um i think im screwed. So i ordered a glowshift 3 pod pillar specifically this one 95 96 97 98 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo 2G Full Triple Gauge A Pillar POD | eBay.

Im not sure if it is true but i heard the spyder and coupes have a different a pillar trim which leads me to believe that is why when i tried to mount back the original+gauge pod pillar it didn't seem to pop back in place. Now i have a pod pillar with my gauges in them connected but i cant put my pod pillar into place. Im feeling so stupid right now crap.:ohdamn::ohdamn::ohdamn::banghead::banghead::banghead:

You might have an issue. The top part of the gauge pod might look alittle weird. I only used a 2 pod gauge pillar and screwed it to the OEM piece. I know some things are a little tricky with the spyders, but with a little patience and ingenuity, you can probably make it work and look nice. If I could do it over again, I would probably buy the piece that allows you to put 2 gauges in your dash cluster and maybe add the 3rd on the steering column. FYI, with the top down and the sun beating on you, its sometimes hard to see the gauges anyway. I went to basic analog gauges and got rid of the tinted and LED ones because you really cant see them with the sun.

i figured that too but i also thought if i was about to fit the gauge pod on to the pillar, then the OEM pillar would fit perfectly back on. While the connection between the pod and the pillar may look odd. Im pretty confused, it got late out so im gonna go look at it tomorrow morning, the nylon lines aren't staying straight either making it even more difficult. crap man im pretty pissed. this is a PITA. It was even easier T-ing of the boost gauge and doing the oil pressure gauge than simply putting this back in.

Dont kill yourself, its only a gauge pod! Be patient and look at whats different about the two. As stated above, maybe you should trim the pod to fit the oem piece and mate the two together. I had a spyder ~8yrs ago and thats what I ended up doing. I used a couple small screws to hold them together.

i forgot to mention i shorted out my car alarm and radio while doing it LOL :banghead::banghead::banghead: yeah i might trim off the top part completely and just get it right at where the gauges start.

I have the same one, it fits as well as any other a pillar pod I've used. There is a small gap at the top, but other than that its pretty tight. I just cut holes in the stock one to pass the lines through, snapped the stock one in place, hooked everything up, then slid the bottom of the Glowshift pillar in, put 1 screw at the very top. Easy peasy. If you dont like the gap at the top, heat it with a hair dryer and massage it to the right shape.

On second thought, after reading about your shorting issue,

just sell the car.

sorry i didn't mean shorted, i mean i blew the fuse to it. I keep thinking shorting is synonymous with blowing the fuse. But yeah hmm i did the samething but i screwed it all together and ran the wires through the stock pillar and then put it in. are you using the nylon tubing?

Yeah, I have top>bottom, autometer mech boost, am mech oil pressure, aem wideband.

Trick is to:
1. snap the stock one in place with the lines coming out of it approxiamtely lined up with the gauge location
2. feed all the lines through the glowshift.
3. hook up the gauges
4. insert the gauges in the holes. Mine fit tight enough I didn't bother putting the backs on them. they were frickin tight.
5. go under the dash or wherever and pull all the extra line lengthaway from the pillar.
6. keep at it until the pillar is in place. leave a little slack in the lines and make sure there are no kinks.
7. I just put 1 self tapping screw at the very top and called it a day. the bottom is snug in the dash on mine.

Ok let me try again..ill report back

I bought the GlowShift full length pillar. The factory pillar is behind it with a hole cut in it to pass the wiring and hoses through as other's have suggested. Yes, it fit like crap, but I took my time and trimmed things little by little to get it to fit. Now that it's in there, I'd hate to remove it, but it looks just fine. A few sheet metal screws helped keep it looking good. The gauge brackets won't fit, but a dab of super glue on the gauge keeps them from rotating. I would suggest using the visors too since like me, you are in a spyder. Thus far, I've had no issues seeing the gauges with the top down, but I also didn't opt for the tinted either.

Everyone that I know who has a spyder including my last DSM had this problem. Doesnt make sense when every year is exactly the same. You can trim the upper part, use a heat gun or just screw it straight onto the pillar like I did LOL

Ok heres my report back. I got it in the top fit like shit so i just screwed it in like crap haha. Weather strippimg doing a good job of holding it in but i had an inevitable kink in my boost line. Ill have to replace it with a copper one. I might just have a shop wire in the lights for me, i dont want to blow anymore fuses.

I bought mine from Lotek. Was $60 I think but it fits perfectly. I screwed it to the factory a-pillar trim so it has a much better way of staying attached. Just trimmed the part to allow the gauges to fit right.

It doesn't have a gap at the top?

Also, do coupe's have this same fitment issue? it could be a Glowshift problem and not a difference between the models.

Just go to the pcv valve section of an auto parts store. They even have stepped ones that fit 3-4 different sizes. Match the other fittings and you hose size.

Stop making this harder than it has to be.

Also have the lotek spyder 3 pod piller. Fits perfect no gaps at all.

goddamn you're so lucky you got that one. my dumbass bought the glowshift one and it fits terribly. anyways i got everything wired except i cut the nylon tubing where the kink was and couldn't get the ferrule off haha so now my boost gauge kinda leaks since i dont have a ferrule.
