I just bought a big 16G turbo and am looking to upgrade my fuel pump and fuel injectors. I need to know what the best setup would be for this turbo?

If this is going to be your last turbo, then a 190 fuel pump and FIC 550cc injectors.
If you plan to upgrade to a 50trim or bigger turbo, then 255 with an AFPR (adjustable fuel pressure regulator) and FIC 660cc injectors.

FIC injectors have their cc ratings are a few ccs from each other.

You might have people jump on here and say that you need a 255 pump, but according to Forced Performance the 190 pump is good for 400whp and I know a member (CanadianTsi) who has gone 11s with a 190 pump.

A search would have given you this same info. :)

If you get a 255 you will be able to step up to a bigger turbo in the future and not have to worry about upgrading it, and the price isn't bad at all.

I'd get 660's too if you want to max out a big 16g and stay at a good duty cycle. a walboro 190 is good. unless you have the extra cash for an afpr and plan on going bigger.

Dgajre777 hit it bang on. Big 16g with 550's and 190lph will make you use the most off of that turbo. I run an Evo 3 16g with FIC 550's and Walbro 190lph and loving it.

Using a 255lph with 660's will force you to add an AFPR to regulate fuel flow, BUT you will be able to run a bigger turbo later on down the line.

Enjoy! Happy tuning!

Dgajre gave you the perfect info for each way you could decide to go with, my only advice is to take it to get tuned, you definately will need it if you get larger injectors. Also either way you go I would get 660s to keep the IDC lower so you have more tuning room.

Thanks for the info you guys. I dont think I will be going with a bigger turbo anytime soon so I will probably go with the 190 lph fuel pump and 660 injectors. Also will a local shop be able to do the tuning for me or do I need to take it somewhere else to get it tuned?

Oh yeah this is a good little chart I found ages back.
http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclfuel.htm, scroll 1/2 way down the page to the injector sizing chart.
I see you live in Indiana, if you live close to SBR I would go there and have then tune it in on the dyno. If you do go get it tuned in you will want to go some place that has a dyno, and specializes in DSMs.

Dustin

You will definitely need some type of tuning product for those non-factory injectors such as SAFC, DSMLink, etc. You might have a hard time tuning those 660s with SAFC, however. If money is not a big issue, I would recommend DSMLink which would fulfill both your tuning and logging needs nicely. Whatever tuning product you choose, I would recommend trying to tune it yourself. You will learn a lot about how your car "thinks" in the process and you will be able to make tuning adjustments at your convenience.

8 post to tell this guy he needs a tuning device to make these set ups right ? Come on guys lets not forget the essentials when running larger pump and injectors, definatley makes things a little more pricy especially if going with a 255lph, AFPR, Larger injectors. I just think this is pretty important information. If he allready has an eprom it helps allready, possibly. Whatever route he goes you defnately need a tuning device when running larger injectors.
