Where did you guys buy your A'pexi N1 Turbo-Backs? someone link me to a good retailer please.
 
Tanabe 3" Got it for $100 shipped from ebay. Good sound under WOT but very loud under decceleration. I had to buy a silencer.

I have the HKS CF/Ti with a stillen downpipe.... sounds pretty mean, deep and throaty... it sounds nice when you let someone drive your car and fly past you.
 
I have the Thermal 3" catback on my GST, but they look even better on the GSX. Sound nice as well. While not incredibly loud, makes a nice drone sound. Gives your DSM a very mellow sound to it.
 
apexi isnt stainless, aluminized i think but ss prices. exhaustdepot.com has an aluminized/ss muffler catback for $428. I found a $500 ATR SS catback on a totaled Talon at a used lot and dropped it myself for $125, then got a full ss exhaust depot dp w/3" flex for $169. I just cut the flange and about 8" of the dp off then it slipfit right into the ATR catback using regular clamps.

Ok, sorry, but i cant answer for the Quality of any other hi-flow cats other than Catco. It has pretty good construction, it works well, and not much of a restriction because it opens up in the middle of the cat. You can have the muffler shop weld some good flanges on it. :thumb: And also, the Catco is only $60 from Summit. :thumb:

Well, if you get a 3" cutout after the dp before the cat, there isnt a GOOD reason to not have a cat. The Catco isnt very restrictive. Look at one you'd see. :thumb:
 
3" custom Turbotech DP to 3" High flow cat to 3" GReddy Power Extreme exhaust <----best sounding system I've ever heard on a DSM and yes, i paid too much for it :cool:
 
3" turboback RNR. Sounds deep and the dp goes to 3" immediately after the O2 housing unlike some of the other ones. :thumb:
 
I am running a megan 2.5" stainless steel. I paid 225.00 off EBAY. It has a nice sound, not too loud, fit great, and looks great. Prior to that, I had a Greddy wich came with the car, the Greddy also had a nice low note to it, but was not stainless and had alot of rust and such. Personally, I am happy with the Megan. Of course, I did not dyno either, so I can not tell you wich one (if either) increased top end more. But in a nut shell, if you are looking for more power on a budget, then search around for dyno results compared to prices. Keep us posted on what you end up buying/finding out....

Ported EVOIII O2 w/ RRE 3" Stainless Downpipe, Stainless 3" Test pipe, Buschur 3" Stainless cat back.. Loud deep tone under accel/decel.... decent @ idle. $950 for all of it.

get stainless, it'll last longer. the Apexi N1 is aluminized... if you want that style/apex then get the GT series. But then you're still paying over $500 for just the car back. you can get a full alumized exhaust for that much.

also think of your goals/laws... do you have to be street legal? you'll need a cat. Do you want to run C-16 Leaded Race Gas? Your cat won't last more than 5 runs, you'll need a test pipe. what are your HP and Quarter Mile Goals? i can't believe no one has mentioned this stuff yet.
 
that's because if we mentioned it it'd turn into a 3" vs. 2.5" debate :cry:

i'm sporting a heavily ported 2g o2, AHP 2.5" DP, 2.5" TP, and 3" custom catback with eBay knockoff n1 muffler.

sounds diesel as hell and cost < 500 :thumb:
 
Greddy EVO on the Eclipse & Thermal R&D on the Talon. While the Thermal exhaust is nice and deep sounding it is a bit loud for my tastes. The Greddy EVO is the perfect compromise as it has a nice sound at WOT and is quiet at idle.

I had an HKS on mine...but then I got a Mehgan Racing 3". I love it. Sounds good and looks great. Full straight pipes whole way back. Got it for a great price too!!
