AIGHT GUYS I"M STILL WONDERING WHICH EXHAUST TO GET FOR MY 1999 GSX .....SO I FIGURED LETS FIND OUT WHAT YOU GUYS HAVE ??? :thumb: thanx

uhhmmm...
this is not the right way to do parts research.
there are way to many exhausts out there for people to start listing them for you, that won't get you anywhere. Maybe you should give some info like: what are your power goals, what size exhaust are you thinking about, are you going to run a cat, what turbo are you planning on using, etc.

also don't type in CAPS it is really rude, and try to do some searching, i looked up exhaust and got over 500 threads. Im sure you can find some info in those.

also in the parts section of this site there are 35 catbacks and 16 downpipes listed for your 2G. look at those for a couple of hours and get back to us.

Hay "thegreatms" YOUR A JERK. If your not a part of the sollution your part of the problem. Why don't you mind your own business, if you don't have anything helpful to say then shut up. I think it's a very good question to ask you dope. That's my 2 cents. BTW I run a 3 in. Apexi WS it's low tone is music to my ears. Thanks.

Custom 3". Cost me 250 and flows just as good as all of these 600+ systems(which is a huge rip off by the way). Save yourself some money and learn something while your at it and do it yourself. You will appreciate it more.

I did have something helpful to say. I asked him for more information, that would be very helpful. To give him valid info we need to know more like his goals are, and what he wants in an exhaust: loud/quite, bling-bling/sleeper, and how much he wants to spend. We don’t even know if he's looking for a cat-back or turbo-back system.
In dsmtalk rules:
" Give as much info as possible about your situation so that others will be able to answer your question and make sure your profile is filled in and up to date with all of your current mods and vehicle info. If you don't supply enough info, people will not bother answering."

"Do not reply to a thread with "Use the Search" - answer the question, link to the answer, or don't reply at all."
I asked for more info, gave him some links to do research and informed him on internet etiquette:

If I came across as harsh it is because there is tons of info out there right now and a thread like this is just clutter. I mean there are like 3 different polls of "what exhaust do you have" out there.

To the original poster, come back with more info on what you want and we can give you some specific help rather than just an ad hoc poll.

STOCK 2IN :barf: ....On my old gst I had a MR SS 3in downpipe mated to a ATR 3in exhaust. If I ever have the need for a 3in exhaust ATR is what Im getting, as well as the highest flowing and loudest. :thumb:

i have a pacesetter 3inch downpipe. Had it for over two years and no problem. A bosal 3inch stainless catback. I got a peice of three inch piping welded inbetween as a test pipe and cut the neckdown off of the bosal catback. Sounds quiet compared to an N1 while cruising but loud(not as loud as N1) at WOT. Cost was about 600. If i could do it over and i new how to weld, i would make my own turboback for much cheaper.

No I did. What ever dude. Where in DSMtuners forums not DSMtalk get it right. So if we don't "follow the rules", what are they going to put us in DSMtuner jail?

Pretty much any of the replies can be summed up into about 10 choices. I'm sure there are others that I've never heard of though.

1. Buschur Exhaust
2. RNR Exhaust
3. Apexi N1
4. ATR Exhaust
5. Thermal R&D
6. Greddy/Trust
7. RSR
8. HKS
9. Certified Muffler
10. Or there's alway the good ol custom exhaust in which you have your choice of piping size, cat or no cat, stainless or aluminized, and which type of muffler.

thanx for the info and replies guys so far i have searched a lot and its so confusing. I'm going towards the apexi n1 3" i found a sound clip which sounds great.
thegreatms you need to take a chill pill i reasearched a lot but its hard to pick one. this forum is here to search ,talk, experiance what people are doing with their cars. most other threads are old/ fairly new but i wanted to see if anybody got anything new on their car.

I am making mine. All 3" S/S 304 after the 2.5" turbo/O2 down turn. 3" Resonator/Silencer. atthe end is a Megan N1 with dual chamber silencer muffler, and it's only a 4" tip which I also like, not some HUGE thing... also two retaining bolts, not one so the silencer will STAY there and not rattle too much.

Apex N1 turboback sounds very quiet compared to others I've heard.

LOL! :p :thumb:

At any rate, I have one that doesn't seem to be too popular -- the HKS Turbo catback. The guy I bought the car from didn't like the 4" coffee-can type tip that came with it so he had it cut off and bolted one of the original 2 tips to the muffler. Then I had a Vibrant 3" dual-layered tip welded on in place of that and I think it looks and sounds great!

My exhaust is as follows:pacesetter 3" downpipe, some people hate on it, but its a nice piece, why pay $250 for Apexi or Greddy dp's when you can pay $194 for a Pacesetter that will do the same thing? What does Greddy and Apexi use a different type of stainless steel in their downpipes that justify an extra $56? Ok, Catco hi-flow racing cat(really cleans up exhaust too) Summit Resonator $18 various MANDREL bends, $20, and a Summit 3" cutout...$5-$10?...and an Edelbrock 5525 muffler. Thats a pretty damn quiet exhaust if i ever heard one...or vice versa  I posted a link in the Muffler thread.

^^ Just how good and durable are the catco cats? I have a Random Technologies hi-flow right now but it's probably the most aged looking component of my full exhaust. Do those only last a matter of months or will they actually last a few years? How good is the quality, as in would a Catco hi-flow be worse performance wise compared to a Random Tech or other name brand?

Edited for spelling.

I have apexi n1 dp with hks carbon hiper exhaust on my car(custom 3" piping). I love the way it sounds.

Apex-I n1 Turbo back i <3 it
