What engine mounts to get?

Got my friend to look at my car and it seems like one or all of the mounts are toast... I see kits selling the "inserts" do these ones just need the oem rubber scraped out?

If anyone has any links as for what's recommended that would be appreciated. Looking for something lower in price too.

Prothane is going to be the cheapest. For the 2g it will have two actual mounts and two inserts. The two solid mounts will need the rubber and the sleeve taken out. The two inserts will just be added along with your factory rubber to take up the space. You should be able to get 2g prothanes from any dsm/evo shop. Just search prothane 2g motor mounts in google.

I see kits on eBay but I'm not sure what exactly they replace. It's hard to tell which mounts on my car are causing the issue as well

Just replace them all. Get the prothane mounts and call it a day. You will however need to press out the old driver/trans mount to get the prothane in.

Those are knock offs. But they should work as well. Question is, how dense is the polyurethane and will it behave like the Prothane mounts..

For a 2G, the Prothane kit completely replaces the centers on the engine and trans mounts, but they only offer gap filler type inserts for the front and rear roll stops.

If the rubber in your roll stops are toast, you might want to consider complete center replacements such as these: 2G DSM Polyurethane roll stops - DSM Classifieds

It's hard to tell what is toast but he whole engine flexes enough that 2 things hit each other and make a clunk, so I parked the car till I can order some mounts
