Engine mounts

I'm having trouble taking out my old mounts to replace them with prothane mounts. Any help?

Cherry picker and a jack will help a bit. It's a pain in the ass unless you got them already pressed in. Good luck!

Like. Do you have the mounts out of the car already or is that the problem...

Are you asking how to remove the factory rubber from the steel shell?

Now my question to you is, Since you are having problems that early in the mod... Do you have the capabilities to Install the New bushings?
IF not or unshure. You should stop now. And find out exactly what you need and how to do it. before you're car is Non-functional.

I think you mean actually getting the old sleeve and rubber out of the old mount, not getting the mounts off the engine.

Paul pretty much explains the easiest way to do this. Cut through the sleeve with a hacksaw or sawsall, then pop it out.

If you are talking about getting the metal ring out of the bracket, I used a sawzall to cut the metal ring in two spot to get them out.

what i did is when i took them out i melted the rubber out with a map gas torch. then i took a flat head screw driver and wedged it between the actuall mount and that inner ring a beat on the end of the screw driver so it would bend the inner ring from the inside and it would slip out/used a saw like another stated.

Also if you have access to an air hammer, all you have to do is put them into a vice and hammer them out. Thats how I did mine and it went pretty easy. This way just seems to be quicker and easier then cutting to me.
