2G what ecu is this?

I was told I could buy a 95 tsi ecu to swap into my 95 gs-t, but when i got it in the mail it only has two plug inputs, where as my gs-t ecu has 4 inputs. The guy on ebay had it listed as a turbo talon awd auto ecu. The car cranks but no start.

That's a TCU for an automatic trans, not an ECU.

... figures aye. Alright well at least the guy advertised ecu in the ebay so i can get a refund.

Do automatic cars have ecu's that can be used in manual cars?

So i just found out tcu and ecu's are completely different things. the tcu had to inputs that fit 2 inputs from my ecu so i was scared i got a legit ecu that just didnt work.

now that i know its a tcu and that autos have ecu's i can get a refund on eBay.

Transmission Control Unit (TCU), that box controls the transmission : (

Can't comment on auto to manual ECU, but I would totally try it, they have the exact same engines in 2g's, not like 1g's which have different stuff. : D

I tried an ECU from a turbo A/T car in my Talon and it would fire up and die in a few seconds. I have a turbo A/T Laser as well and it runs with a M/T brain like a champ. Go figure

Any 2g Turbo ECU will work in any other Turbo 2g.

Why do you need an ECU?
