. cut off wheels are these numbers, all of them should work well with what your doing. i woulda also recommend getting a straight edge, mark it with a marker to make sure your line is straight, and cut away! 456,426,540,420 409

i used a dremel with one of the little drill bit looking attachments. i just stabbed it through, then followed it around SLOWLY. it did melt some, but after i got it all off, i sanded it on low rpm with the dremel. i'm pleased with the outcome. check my gallery for pics of it. i removed the ugly black fake grill piece at the top.

guys thanks for all the replies this is exactly what im looking for!

Hey starr,

Do you have the exact number or pic of your bit that you used to cut the grill.

Thanks again.

i would not recommend doing it his way!!!!! you have really no control over that bit. with the cut off you have alot of stability. but hey, its your bumper OMG

i used a 'roto-zip' bit

Get industrial strength razor blades, my dad installs carpet and the blades they use for that cut through the bumper so easily and are very easy to control...

yeah i agree the cuttoff blade would be safer, but just so you know, what i used looked a lot like what is in dave99gst's pic. my only suggestion is whatever you use. leave UNDERcut instead of OVERcut. it's just like a haircut dude. you can always cut/sand more off, but you cant make plastic come back if it's cut off, so just do a little less than what you really want, then slowly sand away untill it's exactly how you want it.

I used a 3" hole saw to make my round cuts on the sides then I clamped a straight edge to the bumper and used a razor knife to cut the top and bottom. Makw sure to cover the area your working on with blue painters masking tape. That way no paint will chip or get scratches in places you don't want them.
