Very cool swap! Gives the 420a guys another option to go with so you're more of pioneer that others may follow. What kind of block is the SRT engine anyway? I know they have some impressive numbers on the dyno and at the track.

I know a guy in the springs who is doing this same swap. Can you post up some more pics and details? Good luck on the build.

this is awesome!!
i hate srt4's but i love theyre engine LOL. knowing they have steel block and will handle lots of lbs.
but this is great man good luck, keep up the good work:thumb::thumb:

Hell yes, son! Nice work. That motor is stout. Give us some details on the swap. You don't have to do a write up or anything, but some info would be straight. Again, killer swap.

Weird, I mentioned the other day in a thread about how someone should do a SRT-4 swap into a 2G (420a) LOL.

Sweet project.

Incredible job. It's hard to imagine the amount of work that you must have put into this, especially to get this far on only $2k.

Could you get us some more pics, particularly of the engine bay and the (I'm assuming) fabricated motor mounts?

Oh, and a big thanks go to Paul for cleaning up the mess!!

I hear the SRT4 transmission eats up high performance clutches like no tomorrow.

Not very attractive, but kudo's for actually getting it in there.

Have you considered using MegaSquirt to run the engine? It could potentially save a lot of headaches.

Good job on the swap. At least you went through with it instead of talking about it.

^^^could you give me more info on this? im not using the srt tranny, im using the tranny off the 420a. act stage 2 clutch, showing no signs of catastrophic failure. ive headr the stock trannys are weak though.:dsm::laser:

Interesting. Do you think you could have escaped without cutting the hood if you had an intake that didn't go over the top of the motor? Also, was there no way to get the motor any lower to avoid cutting the hood? Also, as locke said, research MS.

i think with an aftermarket performance intake for the srt4 i can put the normal hood back on. i have 2 hoods, the gaped up one and the cf one. i wasnt about to cut the cf. i put the motor as low as i could without rewelding the mounts.
