Just wanted to see what you guys think about the new turbo im getting. I had alittle incident installing a bullseye power ex. housing on my evo 16g and basically the whole compressor side got messed up. I sent it back to them and Dan rebuilt it for me using different parts from around his shop so this is what im ending up with. Bullseye power ex. housing, evo3 16g ex. wheel, to4b v-trim compressor wheel and a compressor housing off a grand national with a 3 in. inlet. Im rather excited to get this thing back and see what it can do. From what Dan says ill retain the same spool time but it will just pull alot harder. Any opinions on how you think this turbo will perform for me? And i could be mistakin but i think im going to have a one of a kind hybrid turbo at this point :D

Call it the "Franken-Mutt" :D

It should do well, though clipping the turbine would yeild a bit more top-end power.

I realize that clipping would yeild better top end but i had no problem with the evo16g's top end in stock form. Its going to have even more now and i really like my 3k-7k rpm power band. Not many 4 cylinders can pull like this throughout such a wide power band. And i can have 5 psi by 2k rpm's.

or grandvo 3 vtrim...........rolls off the tongue smoother i think :D

I just got it in yesterday and i wanted to post some pics but unfortunately they are way to big. Unfortunately it will be going right back to them. For some reason the exhaust housing isnt on there right. I can grab both sides and twist the ex. housing around freely. The only thing that stops it is the wastegate actuator. But this thing is damn huge compares to my evo16g. Good thing this isnt the only part im waiting on to get my car running. Also a good thing that i ordered a tubular ex. manifold that moves the turbo out alittle. The new compressor housing is a 60 trim :thumb:

On my small 16G there was an alignment dowel that connected the CHRA to the turbine housing preventing it from spinning once the band clamp was fastened. It's possible the dowel is missing or the clamp is not tight

I would think to agree with you but mine has a bullseye power ex. housing on it. It doesnt use the clamp much like the mitsu it only uses a snap ring to hold it in place. I kinda suspect that the ring itself isnt in the right spot. I had the housing on once already before the repair and it stayed right where it should of and there was no dowel to keep it in place. Well im not going to mess with it since it fresh from the rebuild this should have never even gotten to me. They are paying for everything including shipping, a NEW housing and even redoing my port job for me which i had done for by someone else on the old ex. housing that never actually got run. Ya they messed up alittle but id say they are taking care of it for me.
