Hey guys, I recently had some spare time on my hands and I decided to redo my interior. The thing is when I bought the car, the interior was painted orange and white. The orange was fading and the white looked kind of rough. So, instead of getting an interior from a parts car, I just decided to redo it and change the white to black. Im not really a fan of painted interiors but I just wanted to make it look better. Please no flameing

wow I'm sorry but wow thats ugly. If you like it then thats awesome but if i had to drive it the orange would blind me.

well what colors would you rather have in the interior. I was thinking probably grey and black like stock. The only reason I kept orange was becasue the car is orange. But im going to be painting the car this winter so I wasnt planning on keeping those colors

He would never buy nos floormats, but yes he definately would paint the interior orange. My car is orange and gunmetal, but you will NOT see my interior painted that color. You are a certified RICER!

no I am not a ricer. I would never have done this if the guy before me didnt do it. It was just something to do since it was already done. I am already going to change it to black and grey once the car gets painted. I never asked to be flamed

Too bad it's not a deeper color orange, but if it matches the car well that'd look alright. So how long did it end up taking and did you do the rear hatch panels too?

OK I have to say this real quick.
Firstly he specificly said the it was the previous owners doing, and that he didnt want to be flamed from it. I dont see what the big deal is, wow its orange get over it, he said he will be changing it to grey/black. Atleast he is trying to fix what the other owner F-ed up. And as for GST98BIG16G, why do you have to bashing on another DSMer that is trying fix the mistakes of a previuos owner? Its BS from people bashing their car that make DSMs sell, and be like F you Ill go get a different car. I also dont see a problem with Honda's, I use to think the same as you...Its a Honda so that ='s rice, but I have 2 friends in our local car club ( mostly DSMs, EVOs, and GVR4s) and they both have sleeper hatch-back Civic's with GSR motor swaps that are built up, and they are both boosting. I am down with Honda's, and DSMs, and Stangs...just so long as none of them are riced out. Thats what I have to say...and Eric, looks like you went to town on taking the interior apart, and did a nice job on painting the black. You may want to check out a cinnimon color...very similar to the color that is on the Daytona edition Dodge's, Black, and cinnimon go will together, my roll cage will be powder coated cinnimon, and my interior will be black with a black exterior, and cinnimon engine bay with IC piping PCed cinnimon, and other stuff to that effect.

Could not agree more. I have a buddy here in Des Moines with a 95 Civic that ran a 12.6 quarter mile on ALL MOTOR...no NOS, no turbo, no supercharger.

I like my interior to be low key...modified but looks stock. Also, I've never seen painted interiors hold up. They always seems to flake or whatever.

Ever watch Unique Whips on Speed Channel? That's how they do it and I don't like it!!!!! It just seems cheap.

I like your effort, nothing wrong with experimenting. Where would the DSMer's be today if some gear head didn't try a monster turbo on a 90 Eclipse or better yet Laser.

With all the s h i t this takes for his interior I would not blame him if he never came back to this webpage. In fact, I get a little sick of people slammin people for their questions or projects.

WORD to that! He did clearly state that the previous owner made that s h i t look like a F-ing rave inside! Although, take the NOS floormats out asap...if that doesn't bother you too much .....and to the guy raggin on him saying he should go to the honda world??? learn your facts, read up, and go watch some Hondas tear other cars up. A vTech engine is a very beautiful thing...throw a turbo on it, and you will be beyond amazed as to what they can do.

:( please man , if you gonna be like this buy a honda ...... why are you doing this to our DSM community?>

If you don't have something good to say, don't say anything at all. K Pumpkin? Failure to follow this simple rule will result in a moderator having a little discussion with you regarding your attitude.

For the original poster, it's not my taste but you obviously put time and effort into it and I have to commend you for it. I think it would look much better in a black/grey scheme or even black/tan but at least you did good work.

Well i kind of regreted starting this thread after all the flameing it received. But, I have to thank everyone that has posted after gst98big16g for not being f'ing retarted. If your thinking about flameing me for this please read through the whole thread before posting, and that might clear some things up before you go spouting off on here. Why cant we all just get along and quit all of the bashing and flameing. Were all part of the same community, right? And for gst98big16g, I have a lot of respect for boosted hondas. Its takes a lot more effort and time to completely build a motor and boost it like some of the hondas out there. Its a lot harder then just bolting up a 16g on your already STOCK turbo motor. Around where I live, there are people like gst98big16g but just in the opposite fashion. Mostly everyone here loves hondas, but when they see a dsm they simply say, " O, its just another beat DSM."

Eric Im not bashing you at all on this. But when you get ready to change back to stock I have a bunch of good grey and black dash parts and a console out of a 91 talon I parted out. I will give all I have to you for the price of shipping. And I bet the real DSM'ers on this site would be willing to do the same or at least give you some good deals. OH just filp those NOS mats over or you could sell them on ebay!

If you don't have anything nice to say, then keep your mouth shut, as he stated in his first post he didn't want to be flamed, all he wanted was an opinion among us. Here's a link to go run your mouth along with all your other buddies. Click Here

Very nice post, +2 buddy.:thumb:

Thanks Andy, at least someone on here has the balls to tell him where to go. :D

To the OP: Very good job on the paint. I imagine it would look 10 times better once you get the orange out of there, and at least 3 times better over the 15 year old faded interior color. By the way, what did you use for paint??

Why open a thread to see what we think if he only wants good comments? Then why not put what nice things can you all say about this. I think he did a good job painting it, but personally most of us don't like that stuff. Wouldn't if have been just as easy to paint it black or something ? Why is everyone getting so torn up about people's opinions ? It's the internet.

Done.

There is a difference between constructive criticism like most others have said and this ignorant post.

So it was bright orange when you bought it and you didn't like it... so you decided to repaint it, but stuck with orange? Did I miss something? Why not paint it black? I'm not flaming you, but your thread title is asking what we think, and I think it looks horrible.

Not to sound like a dick dude but you made a thread and wanted comments not everyone is going to think its "the bomb". The inside of your car looks like a sponsor for tropicana orange juice. Best would to go black on black or black on tan or black on whatever color you want. That would give me a headache if I had to drive that everyday, but hey everyone to their own

Wow thats ugly why not just leave it stock.... First is performance then other goodies....Should of least had a better color scheme.
