ive seen exhausts tilted to the left how do u do that is it a certain exhaust or do u just do it ur self

most likely what you are seeing are people with the A'pexi N1 exhaust, it comes that way (sticking out at an angle).

when i ordered my rnr exhaust i specifically mentioned that i want it to leave the car at not so much of an angle that everyone else has, i dont know how exactly it will look cause i havent got it yet, but i'm not even sure i'll be able to just bolt it up cause the exhaust mounts are bolted at an angle for the exhaust to go in between the gas tank and the rear-right wheel well and strut assembly.

i have an RNR exhaust, and I told him to make it straight, but it still came crooked. So I cut off the muffler, got a couple of 90 degree bends and put on my own muffler straight. No clearance problems.

I think the only reason people have crooked mufflers is because their thinking is less bends = less restriction = more power. That and how else can you show off your shiney chrome muffler?

actually htats precisely why Apexi has it like that.....R&D is for a reason

certain types have this tilt u described...i have the hks hiper exhaust system, it is a tilted cat back system...the exhaust itself looks like a cannon...its similar to the apex n1, and is definitely not a cheeper system...i like my exhast...has a good throaty sound as well...

are there ant 1g FWD systems that come with the tilt or is it only geared towards the AWD cars...i like that look but it seems like the only ones ive seen for FWD are the sraight out exhaust exit....

This is why i like my Thermal R&D because the actual muffler is slant (the whole straighter is better thing) but they slanted the tip to make it look straight from behind. Also the Thermal sounds better than ANY exhaust ESPECIALLY the Apexi, IMO the apexi has a horrible sound to it and i dont like slanted exhaust on 2G (1G it looks good) that why i bought a US company exhaust rather than a Japan company

mine is at an angle coming out. looks sick i think. i had my exhaust custom made at a shop and they said thats the only way it would fit was to make it at an angle to clear the chassis.

uh, you could say that. in fact its alot harder and 3" is about the maximum you could do.

to answer your questions.

1) on 2g dsms if you want to fit a 3" piping you have to go under the axle. (not true for all cases, read section 3)
while clearing the 3" piping under the axle the piping has to be tilt as shown in the picturing. Please do not ask why, just go look at your car and you'll see.

2) with a 2.5" piping you can fit it over the axle and make your exhaust look straight.
when going over the axle (w/ a 2.5") it is really hard to tilt your exhaust, because of the limited space for piping you have once you cleared the axle.

3) with some hacking you can clear your 3" piping over the axle. simply get a hammer and some towel, and bent in the spare tire compartment. push in few inches and you can find some space to clear it. note that youll need some extra hangers to hold the pipes from flexing too much over the axle, it will start to bump against things cus 3" fitment is really tight over the axle.

the more aftermarket looking you are the more attention youll get, even unwanted attention from cops, be aware that exhaust can get you screwed and pulled over.
if this happens you are going to spend some money where you dont want to.
(personal experience)

my suggestion go over the axle and put on some sleeper/performance exhaust. (i.e.: rs exhaust). keeps the cops away, and it saves some money anyway.

thats gotta be a brand new can...mine is way scratched and dirty. i clean it all the time but miles take their toll.

that is a brand new piping.
looks like custom made pipes from a exhaust shop.

under axle like that is gonna get scratched up w/in 2-4wks.
also if you dont go over the spd bumps correctly, you are going to dent the pipe that goes under the axle. dont argue that that isnt possible because the its underneat the wheels, etc etc.. because it can. i've seen it.. and i have also done it..

with piping are that, and a 1.5-2" drop you better start learning how to drive real slow over bumps and ditches.

personally i cant handle taking 10sec/speed bump and 20sec/drive way ditches, no matter how good your car might look parked, i cant take slammed conditions for my daily driver.

I have 3" on my FWD 1ga .. here are a few pictures ..

My friend just bought a mandrel bender so i think soon im going to try and bring it straight back under the rear and then make the angle. 1 to get rid of bends .. and 2 cause it will look 1000 times better .. i also want an N1 muffler cause the magnaflow sounds like a truck ..

1gs have better clearance than 2gs..
