I apologize. I realize this type of thread has been beaten to death but the more I read the more I get confused. I need to take the Talon to the next level. I need bigger injectors, running 450ccs now, Probably going to go for 680s, I already have a 190lph fuel pump. What else do I need? Socketed eprom? What comes in the kits I have seen from a few different vendors?:talon:

All you need is the EPROM ECU and DSMLink package, which comes with the CD and interface cable. You'll need to have the ECU socketed, which can be done by the guys at DSMLink when you purchase the software. I would also recommend if you go with DSMLink, get bigger injectors so you never have to upgrade again. Something like 1000cc would be great.

Is the 2G ECU EPROM? With the FP Big T28 I'm running I'm going to stick to 660s. Even later on if i upgrade I'm still going to stick to a GT25 BB turbo as i wanna autocross more than anything else. I gotta admit I was kinda confused by the DSMLink webpage. :talon:

PM sent. '95 was the only year they where made, but the car I pulled it from was made in 95 and sold in Janurary of 96.

I know it is a EPROM ECU cause I sell a lot of the 1g EPROM ECUs and every blue moon I get a 2g EPROM.

Widebands are not absolutely necessary, but are extreamly helpful. A lot of people tune off there O2's to start out, but eventually go with a wideband (I made 320 whp, off tuning with my O2) 2g EPROMs generally go for around $220. The front of your ECU will have a E at the bottom right corner.

^^ I agree. I want it to be a learning tool for me as I go deeper into modification.

I always wanted to do this to my car but I just cant firnd an EPROM ECU. Hopefully somebody here can help and sell me one.

This is a Rather dumb question, but I have to ask....
Can a FWD 95 EPROM ECU be used in a 96 AWD? Both being Auto's

I know the 95 will work in the 96. But the important part is the Transmission....
Can I use a FWD ECU in a AWD?

Nevermind. I found the answer I was looking for buried DeeeeeP in the "Search"

engine fuel management would next the next (late) logical step. larger injectors with DSMlink and it should be good to go.:talon:

You will need to upgrade the fuel pump (and possibly add an AFPR) before going with larger injectors. I would say get DSMlink, then a fuel pump/AFPR, and then the largest set of injectors you think you'd ever need.

Fairly recent pics :talon: As it sits; 190lph Walbro fuel pump, Aeromotive rewired AFPR, 450cc injectors (stock I know. I know), Blitz dual solenoid boost controller, Blitz supersound BOV, HKS cams (264 or 268 degree I forget which it was a long time ago), AEM adjustable cam gears, a full set of upper and lower Hahn Racecraft IC pipes, Hahn SMIC, Injen intake, variant open air filter element, FP Big T28 ported, DNP SS exhaust manifold, SS exhaust manifold studs, SS turbo to exhaust manifold gasket, SS Atmospheric dump O2 sensor housing, SS Buschur racing 2.5 inch downpipe, SS hi flo cat, Thermal R&D 3 inch catback exhaust, A fresh set of NGK plugs gapped at .28, 9mm, NGK plug wires, EGR system delete with EGR blockoff plate.

I think it's ready for DSMlink and some 660s! I also have done suspension mods and drivetrain mods. I have front and rear strut tower braces, I included a pic of the rear strut tower brace that I added bracing to, all ball joints in the front suspension have been replaced, polyurethane upper strut mounts, poly front and rear motor mounts, Tokico Illumina adjustable struts, H&R springs (sitting in a drawer in the garage), ACT 2600 clutch with Jun Cromoly flywheel.

The Talon is sitting on four new wheel bearings, SS clutch master cylinder to slave cylinder line, new clutch master cylinder, new clutch slave cylinder, Machv engine bay shift bushings, Symborski shifter kit, B&M short throw shifter and Greddy superheavyweight shift knob, It also has SS brake lines, Brembo slotted rotors in front, Powerstop cadmium coated rotors in the rear, EBC Kevlar brake pads all around, DOT5.1 brake fluid.

I am really looking to use DSMlink to take this car's performance to the next level. I built this car towards autocross and light drag. I meant it to be fun as hell around town. All maintenance has been done, my O2 sensors are less than 10k old and my fuel filter has also been replaced recently. I also relocated the battery to the trunk and put in a monster grounding kit.

new power steering pump and new alternator
