what do i need to log?

i have a 98 gsx that i just put a gm 3" maf and translator on. I know that the car is running super rich, and it keeps breaking up under mild to heavy accel. I have evoscan and am able to log, but i dont know exactly what i should be logging so that you guys can look at the logs and tell me exactly what needs to be done to the translator. i am sure i need my fuel trims, knock, and the afr map but after that not sure. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Check these threads, if your ECU matches the one's shown, you can log and flash by simply purchasing a cable and EVOScan.

i am able to flash my ecu, however i need to know what to even be looking for first, and with the translator, why would i not just make my changes on that rather then reflashing the ecu?

ECU Flash has soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many more functions than a translator. You can use EVOScan to log if you want to monitor everything. Read up on those links and it will explain it all. Then you will understand why.
