hi guys, i have a 97 talon non turbo, and i bought and used cyclone 4g63t, i also have a evo 8 engine, and a 300gt vr4 engine and want to swap one ,it into my car, what exactly do i need to do the swap, any parts, etc, and wich one will you guys put it of the 3 motors, and will they fit??? pleae help! :dsm: :talon:

The only one of those motors that will fit is the cyclone. The evo motor is flipped so it won't fit right and the 3000 is a v-6. Also what model do you have? If you have a 420a it will not work either. But you will need the 4g63t motor (the cyclone) wiring harness, ecu and probly a turbo trans wouldn't hurt either. But find out what model motor you have know and it will be easier to tell you what you need. Or even car model es esi.

From what I've read, going from a 420a (which you have) to a 4g63 isn't worth the work. Nothing will bolt up, and it is an entirely custom job. I looked into it myself, and was tuned quickly away by the results I found.

well said. finaly a person who learns somthing by searching..not asking. :thumb:

It should be common sense not to do this swap. N/A to 4g63 is more work and money then if you just went out and bought a turbo DSM.

sell the VR4 motor, sell the evo 8 motor....sell your N/A talon.

Go buy a 4g63 DSM. and if its a 2nd gen...then i would put your "cyclone" in that, to avoid possible crankwalk. plus you can upgrade the internals while your at it.

thats what alot of N/A owners end up doing.

Im not trying to discourage you or tell you NO. I'am just informing you that any one of those 3 swaps is going to be way more then you expect. (tones of custom work...and persistant problems, plus large amounts of cash..even if done by yourself.)

BTW...where did you get an evo motor?

It can be done, but it's not worth it IMO. First off you have to buy the 4g63, then the wiring harness and ECU to mention a few. MuddinPete is right. It is all custom. You have to make new motor mounts, and then you have to get it to run. On 2gnt.com, they only knew of 2, one ran into problems and is now parted out, and another hasn't been heard from in quite a while. I wouldn't do it. Just keep your 420a chief.

Wow...haven't been here in a while. Things have changed, and for the better.

well. yeah, i have the 420a, so i guess i'll just try to trade my car for a trubo dsm or just sell it, i mean i have a lot of body work into the car, such as the nsx wide body kit, and all of that, and will really like to have a turbo wide bodied dsm, but thanks for your info

If you want to keep your car and you want a turbo car, just start shopping for a turbo kit. A lot of people have done extremely well with the Hahn Racecraft kits. If you're into showing your car at all, this would also earn you some points and respect. Yes, it's some money, and yes, it's some time and labor, but in the end, you get to keep the car you've come to know and love and give it a kick in the pants with a big turbo. It might not ever run an 11 second quarter mile, but it'll probably keep up with almost anything you run into on the street.

This is true. The 420a is capable of big things. Build it right, and you could have a monster.

sounds like you are in a pretty good position, i too am a NT but will turbo some day. anyways if i were you (wich iam not so take it as you will) you could sell the other motors if you dont need them, look though the classifiedson here & you will find a 420a block for around 300, (or less) then if you have elected to sell the other motors you will have the $ to build a complet 420a built & turbod the right way :thumb: oh yeah with cheaper insurance

yeah, i might just turbo the 420a, but i dont really like the dodge motor, and i like the 4g63t better, it will take more money to get a 140hp motor to 400hp, then a 210hp to 400hp, the 4g63t is closer, and will take less money, then building the 420

Have you researched it all? To build a 4g63, it will take some money as well. You just have to build the internals on the 420a. To me this screams opprotunity to create a monster. Once the bottom end is built, since the ring lands on the stock internals are the culprit when boosetd, the 420a can handle almost anything you throw at it.

You are correct that it will cost you more money to make a 420a make 400hp than it would a 4g63. But you're not factoring in the money it will take to get your 4g63 into your 420a engine bay. This alone may far outweigh the differences in engine performance.

well, i guess i will just try to get a turbo dsm...........any one interested on this nsx wide body dsm? i just rather get a 2g turbo and build it, then spend all the extra money into building the 420a, unless i can get a cheap turbo kit, since i dont have much $$ right now

He dosen't say if it still runs. It ran to do some dyno pulls, but does it still run? Damn Europeans spend your money like water!:p Just playing man.
