What connecting rods are these?

I popped the oil pan off my car to see if I could diagnose why I am unable to make any power with out knocking. I bought the car with a mystery motor and im trying to unmask this short block, I was told it had "some" rods and wiseco pistons.

What rods and are these in fact wiseco's?

Those are definetly aftermarket rods, and pistons. Which means your compression ratio could be much different than stock. What fuel, and turbo combination are you trying to make power with, and what is your timing curve?

Maybe Manley Turbo Tuff

I think your right! manley turbo tuff

I always run shell 92oct, im running a small 16g, and i've been adjusting the timing with ecmlink, right now in the high end where it knocks the most, im running -3degrees of timing so that shows how bad the problem is.

When i run 110oct i can run up to about 6-8degrees of timing in that same cell. I know another huge contributing factor is my intercooler seeing how at the end of a 1/4 mile run i get up to 120+f.

I just wanted to know the condition of my short block before it goes pop, and prevent it from doing it.

Check to make sure the harmonic balancer outside ring hasn't slipped. What cam sensor are you running and is this a 6 bolt or 7 bolt? What is your base timing set to?

Thanks for all the help guys!

Its a 6bolt.

I'll check the balancer didn't think of that. It's got the green top cam sensor, i also have a black top laying around. base timing is set at 5degrees btdc.

I was at English Racing the other day and Aaron made a comment about sometimes with 2gs running 1g cam sensors the timing tables have to be setup really weird and low. As long as its making power and pulls good I don't think the number value in link matters.

Thats weird I've never heard of that, from about 5500-7500 it feels dog slow. which is where most of the timing has been pulled out.
