Ok I just replaced my clutch, and when I started the car I heard the ever dreaded ticking noise coming from right under the timing belt. Yes I have crank walk. Now I am going to put a 6 bolt block and keep my 2G head. My question is if I were to get a full gasket kit what do I go with? Do I get a 7 bolt kit because the head is a 2G from a 7 bolt? Or do I get a 6 bolt because that is what I am going to put in. Any and all help will be appreciated.

They are the same gasket, headgasket that is, and are you sure it's crankwalk and not something else. Crankwalk isn't usually associated with a ticking noise. Have you actually had the car's flywheel endplay tested. You should have check that while you were replacing the clutch. You get a gasket set for whatever block you have because the timing cover gasket's are different on the 6 and 7 bolt motor's. As far as that every other gasket listed is from 89-99.

I read somewhere that the ticking noise is I believe the CAS that broke and is spinning and that is what is making the noise. I bought the car 4 years ago and have only put on about 10k miles on it. I was told I had crank walk because I was having trouble with engaging the clutch, but that was the only problem. The person that told me that it was crank walk works mainly on DSM's and I believe he is the only one in the area that does. However, I left my car there when I went out of town for work and my brother in law saw his son driving it because we found out that the guy lived 5 houses down from her. There is really nowhere else to take it to that knows about these problems.

So you say with the 6 bolt block I have to get the 6bolt gasket set? My main concern was that the 1G head is bigger than the 2G.

No they are the same. Ports are bigger but dimension wise they are the same. And it could be crankwalk but I still recommend getting it taken to another mechanic and having him check the flywheel endplay to see if it really is.
