What can I salvage from my nt block

The guy I am buying my turbo shortblock from is dropping it off tomorow and i saw it and it looks good needs to be honed but I was wondering what I can salvage from my nt engine they are both 7-bolts. I was going to keep the head and intake but what else can be used.

also i dont want to make a double post but does any one know of any website except craigslist and ebay where i can pick up used turbos and turbo acessories?

Well the only difference between the two would be oil squirters(which aren't exactly necessary), the piston's(lower compression), and cams.

Correct. And as I know of you don't want oil squiters in a 7-bolt. Heres a writeup theory on it:

1g's dont have an inherent problem with crankwalk, and even if they did, it would be the last you should be worried about.

so should i move the crank/pistons and rods to my nt block or just move my head and components that are universal between the two over to the turbo block?

the nt block has super low miles cause it was from a totaled eclipse when i mean low i mean lower than 50k the cylinders are immaculate

i want to make at least 350 eventually basically i want to squeeze as much out of a 7 bolt with stock internals as possible

both blocks look good except for the fact that the turbo might need a good hone but its a budget build for now and i am trying to save as much money as possible by finding used parts

Keep your n/t, and get a turbo rebuild kit(with new pistons), get the block re-honed and rebuild the WHOLE block, DO NOT SKIMP OUT.

all the parts from the turbo block are good can i keep those? i already payed for the engine im just waiting for it

If they are in PERFECT condition then you might be able to. Other then that you will be taking a risk if you just swap stuff over. All you need is the pistons, and if you want the cams.

the pistons crank and are out of the block when he drops them off tomorow night i can take some pics of them
i was going to get all new bearings rings etc and when i get some more cash i was going to take my head to the local machine shop and some hks or bc cams for it

and as far as cams go would i want the 272s or the 280s?
and what size turbo and injectors would you recommend

The hks 272's, they drop right in, do not need springs, and do not to be dialed in. For that power level and with cams the evo 3 16g would be perfect seeing as how your on a budget. Then again if you want cams, do yourself a BIG favor and build the block right (like i said before ).

taking your advice jeff and found that jnz tuning has oem pistons for like 64 bucks a set and i can reuse my nt rods?
and get new rings, bearings, and gaskets?
I bought the oem pistons which leaves me about $150 ahead of where i would have been if i bought the turbo block. I still need to buy the rest of the rebuild parts.
