What can I expect?

Alright, I am wondering if I don't tune...what will happen?

I got a 4g63 block shaved and bored 85.5mm
je forged IDT pistons
balanced/polished crank
acl race rod/main bearings
tubular exhaust manifold
big 16g turbo (ported)
cometic head gasket
apr HT studs
port/polished/shaved cylinder head
hks cams 264/272
750cc fuel injectors
ported O2 housing
re-chipped ecu for full tunability
dsmlink (INSTALLED BUT NEVER TUNED, only used so far to scale injectors).
STOCK FP
STOCK FPR
K&N Intake
STOCK Throttle Body
Opened 2.5" Exhaust

I have noticed I am running rich. My car's idle is not smooth, goes up and down frequently. Block, Head, Cams, Internals, Turbo are all NEW, not rebuilt.

not really. all im gunna really say is your going to be running vary rich. theres not really much else for me to assume since those big injectors, but the stock FP and FPR leave me guessing. keep me updated, im about as curious as you are. Im confused as to why you wouldnt just upgrade the fuel pump and fpr while you bought all the rest of that stuff?

You are going to get a lot of knock and eventualy put a hole in your pistons! A fuel pump and FPR is a must for your setup, AND stop driving the car untunned untill you get stuff done the proper way.

You need to regulate fuel pressure, adjust low fuel trims once you load up on idle fuel the plugs will foul out quickly.

Guys, thanks very much. I didn't get the pump or afpr because I had no idea i had to get them originally. Can I just get the fuel trims for the bottom end tuned for now and then a complete fine tune later?

what stuff should I get done besides the FP and Tuning? Can I drive it to the tune shop (about 45 minutes away) if I baby the car and don't boost it??

Fuel pump is the only thing I would buy for now.
Tune with what you have, and then go from there. An AFR gauge would not be a bad investment either. There are a lot of posts on how to use dsmlink; start reading and you will be able to tune your car with just a laptop.
YES, drive your car 55ish and don't boost crazy....you should be fine till you get to a tunning shop.
Are you running on stock SMIC?? If so that is another thing I would upgrade in the future..

yea, I still have the smic. I don't plan on boosting past stock psi though..."maybe" I might turn it up to 14psi. I already spun all four bearings and scored the crank last year and had to wait until this May to fix the car. I really just want to run up some serious miles (about 20,000) to make sure this car is definitley going to be dependable before I crank it up. Eventually I'll get that FMIC.
