What cams work with MD Emissions

I am getting ready to purchase new cams and am thinking about the more extreme COMP CAMS. I have heard these are close to the HKS 272's.... This brings me to my question. I have been told that 272's will not pass MD emissions, however, I have heard many people say that they will pass emissions with a good tune. Has anyone had any experience with modified cams in the state of MD? Thanks a lot.

I just did emissions not to long ago and if you have a 96 or newer they only plugg into the obd II port. Maybe something has changed.
