Calgary,
Hey guys, On tuesday we had a torrential downpour while I was driving. The end result was I got stuck going through a puddle that was about bumper height on the car (no, I did not have a choice). Now when I drive my car, it sputters and feels like I hit a brick wall if I go past about 15% throttle under load, or hit any sort of boost. The wide band O2 sensor reads as dead rich. Other than that the car runs fine and idles fine. The TPS is working properly and I am getting a good reading from the MAS. Fuel pressure is fine as well, atleast when I can read it at idle or if I free-rev from inside the engine bay. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong/what I can do to find out whats wrong?

you can also check and see maybe the water got a couple of your icp wet enuff to pop of or losen and give a boost leak. besides that it never hurts to do one anyways.

I am running an GM MAF right before the throttle body elbow (I guess I did write MAS before, sorry). Pulled the spark plugs and they all looked fine. I pulled off the valve cover and it smelt a bit like gas, is that normal if the engine is flooding?

On a side note, it is virtually a brand new engine. I got a short block from Car Shop Inc. This is my first experience with tuning, and I am not trained as a mechanic. When I got the block I noticed that there was about a 1mm of space total between the piston and the cylinder wall. I didn't really question it because I got it from a reputable place and I don't know that much about what I am doing. I ran a The pistons are supposed to be 8.5:1 compression. I did a compression test today and everyone read about 120-125psi. Is this normal? That seems a bit low to me.

And there is no water in the wells.

How many miles are on the engine? The compression will go up as the rings seat.

Is your air filter dry?
