I am in the process of removing the head off of my '95 4G63 and I found this little sensor destroyed right under where the Intake Camshaft Sprocket sits.

What is it and how much do they usually cost to replace??

I've spent a LOT of money in the last few days trying to get this car to run and I'm not happy when I keep finding more broken things... :sosad:

So far I've bought a MAF, Turbo Intake, O2 Housing, Turbo, Head Gasket Kit, Valve cover, O2 sensor, timing belt kit, new camshafts and about $40 worth of fluids to replace.

Owell, just one more thing to add to the list of things needing to be done to get the car going again!

There is one thing that I am looking for. I need a good ECM for this car. '95 GSX AWD Auto trans. The previous owner sold his and I am having a heck of a time finding one.

Maybe a cam shaft positioning sensor. Im not sure on all the sensors but its that close to the cam shaft that may be it.

It looks like a Crank angle sensor.
It was laying arround the valve cover or by the T-belt cover?
It might cost arround 40-80 $ in autozone.

EDIT:
DOES IT LOOKS LIKE THE ONE IN THE THREAD? Click here

You guys ROCK! :rocks:

It is definitely the crank angle sensor. I will go find another one I guess...

And also, Dtab, I need one to get my car running, so I'll send you a PM now about the one you have available.

I also say cps and thats is probably why the car dont run. The down side to this is that they usually dont go bad or get broken until cw takes it out. I suggest checking crankshaft endplay before you continue to spend $ to patch it up.

EDIT:I just reread your post and if it is located behind the intake cam gear, it would be the cam angle sensor and again probably the cause of it not running.

This picture, taken from the post linked to above, is exactly what I found broken.

The reason that this sensor got demolished the way mine did was because the timing belt broke and took it out. I bought this car broken and I'm trying to get it running again.

I have to rebuild the head and replace the pistons.

That sensor is NOT the reason taht my car isn't running! HAHA

That is actually the cam angle sensor not crank. The crank angle sensor looks exactly the same but it is down by your crankshaft, not up there by your cams like that.
