Hey guys. I finally took her to the track last weekend but couldn't get on here to post my results. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad. Only problem was it is only an 1/8th mile track because there are no 1/4 around here that i know of. heres the results

Reaction - .945 LOL
60' - 2.523 :barf:
1/8 ET - 9.971
1/8 MPH - 77.32

As you can see, if i could drive, I could have ran a lot better. i think i have a lot of potential here, i just need to learn to launch. but it was my first time at the track LOL give me a break :thumb:

To me, 1/8th doesn't mean shit. I have no idea what those times mean, Chris. Sorry. To me, an eighth-mile is just something you do for fun. Don't honestly know why they even make them.

EDIT:
Pending a windshield install this coming week, I should be making my first ever passes at Firebird International on the 22nd. Wish me luck. Maybe we can compare 1/8 mile times. :D

I agree, dont know why they have them either but its the only thing around here, and everyone always ask if i have taken it to the track, so now i have LOL. Good luck at the track.

PS glad to see your finally a wiseman, you deserve it :thumb:

Hey crhis what were you boosting at?
And what were you launching at? its hard for us FWD cars to keep that 60' closer or below 2secs

I was boosting 8 pounds and i was launching at all different rpms and styles trying to figure out what was best.

Yeah. I know what you mean. I might see about borrowing a buddy's AFX ECU for the week just so I can get it learned before next weekend. Of course, I still need to get that windshield replaced first...

My thunderstick gets a better launch than that chris... ROFL

When are you taking it over to the 1/4 track? What tires do you have on the car?

Hey Chris, haven't seen you post in a while. Yeah, 1/8 is pretty much useless to me BUT...if you want to bracket race you obviously need to work on that reaction time. If not then it means nothing. Workin' that 60 with FWD I never got down (the only FWD I have run is a VW rabbit). Sooo much easier to launch RWD or AWD. Be sure to learn how to speed shift (if you are not already). Your foot should never come up. It can cut tenths off your time . Last but not least, don't shift too early. Common error in "new guy" racing. You usually need to go a little past your power range so that you can shift "into" your next gear's power range. Where to shift depends on upon your set-up.

Do it again soon, you know you loved it :sneaky:

Thats a good idea. I take it this will be your NA runs and you haven't gone turbo yet? I'm looking forward to seeing what you can pull. BTW what happened to your windshield?

Ya it has been a while, I've been real busy with school. The rest of my driving is fine, its just the launch i have to work on. I seem to have a little higher trap speed then most of the times in the track listings that i can compare to. so i know i got the potential to do much better. But i could definitely do bracket racing and be awesome, im consistantly bad :p

These will be my first ever runs. The MSnS and Zt-2 installs are still not completed due to timing belt issues the week before the Shootout and meeting a hot chick soon thereafter, but should be in by year's end. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can pull down untuned to get an idea what good the MSnS will do. I figure winter will be a good time to get some nice times since the air will be nice and cool out in the desert.

Then again, I'm more than likely putting the stock springs back on it, driving to Vegas and doing a rally-x on some dry lake bed on the 29th, so she'll probably be broken and sitting in Las Vegas by Halloween. LOL

Windshield has been cracked all but a foot across for over four years now. Always had other things to tend to (like blown-up motors) first. :tease:
