My new setup will consist of 2.3 Longblack, 56 trim, ect. ect. Anyways, I am sending my tranny to shepherd and i was just wondering if i get both my front and rear diffs welded, how much impact it will have on my steering? Shouyld I do it? Its mostly just a weekend car, i wont be driving it a lot. Thanks for any imput!

Don't do it. No need to do both. To some people, just welding the center is annoying enough!

With just a welded center, the front and rear axles are still free to "differentiate" so steering is not affected except on slow, tight turns.

If you weld the center AND either the front or rear you will get massive tire skipping when turning and probably a lot of steering resistance.

A guy I go to school with did it on his 1g and he liked it at first, but the rear tire dragging on slow or sharp turns like through a parking lot made him wish he didn't do it. Unless you have a drag-only car that you flatbed around, I personally would advise against it for the simple fact of sacrificing low-speed driveability.
Oh yeah, and you know how the turning radius sucks as it is? It gets worse.

It was going to be mostly street race car, but from the feedback im getting, it doesnt sound like i should. I know how our turning radius alread sucks, tell me about it! Thanks for the feedback. Does anyone else have anything to say?

I been really considering this also, since my transmission is out of the car. How strong is the two spline? How often do people break these? Two spline be able to handle drag radials? Looking to make around 500 wheel at some point.

Thanks.

Whats this slow tight turns business everyone is talking about? I"m lucky i don't have to make 3 point turns just to make a left in my GSX the steering ratio is soo bad. ROFL
