weird tdo5 serial number

i just got this turbo for my subi and the guy said it was off a spyder, its a tdo5 but i cant find it indentified by its serial number. mz0701143. the wheel looks like a 16g wheel, any ideas. i will try and get pics up. im using my cell phone to post this so.

I couldnt find anything with the exact number but i know its deffinetly not a MHI turbo

You can find them got mine from jusmx, ebay, a buddy of mine got one and he has problems. with his set up, all around. Its too bad because he doesnt know much about his car.

You're installing an Evo III 16G on a Subaru using the MHI compressor cover and Subaru turbine housing, or vice versa?

As long as both turbines are TD05H, this should work fine.

i would be using the MHI turbo on the subi but swapping the hotside from the ebay turbo since its a subi type. and just putting the mhi hotside with the ebay turbo, still doible?

As long as the turbines are the same spec, you're golden. I've heard that some eBay turbos don't use a true "TD05H-spec" turbine, but all of the ones I've ever rebuilt would interchange housings with an MHI turbo.

awesome, music to my ears. i'll plan on swapping them out wednesday. how much would you charge to rebuild my mhi 16g once i get everything swapped over? its been on the gsx for a minute now

During the swap, be sure to pay attention to the clock position of the housings so everything lines up when you're done. MHI turbos have a locating pin between the turbine housing and the center housing- I've seen some eBay knockoffs with the locating pin, some without.
