Okay this just started this week... its very strange.. i can start the car and it'll start up like normal then just die... if i start it up and hold the rpms up for a few seconds it'll stay alive.... what is going on? it does this every once and awhile.. seems like more when i just drove it to normal operating temp and let it sit for 10-20 mins then try it, it'll do it. so far on a cold start it starts up perfect.

could it be a clogged IACV???

also even when i have to hold it at a rpm and then its fine.. while its doing this and afterwards the car runs as normal as can be? i'm confused

It sounds like an IAC. Try cleaning it with some brake cleaner and letting it dry before reinstallling. If that doesn't work, look at getting a new one (~$255 if I remember correctly). If that doens't work, reinstall the old one and return the part and then problem solve some more to find what else could be causing it. But to me it sounds like an IAC problem.

Definitly an IAC issue. I would look into getting one from a junkyard. I payed $50 for a used one and mine it works fine. Its kinda hit or miss with used parts.
