Ok so my girlfriend was dropping me off at home when a weird noise started coming from the engine bay while sitting at idle at a stop light. When on the freeway the noise seemed to come up during the final gear as well. Kinda hard to explain where it's coming from but when I got to my hosue I turned on her heater just to increase the load and the noise came up again. I shot a little video of it so hopefully someone has dealt with this before. My thought is maybe something is rubbing somewhere in the bay but again it was dark so I couldn't do much. Thanks in advance for any help guys.

Sounds like the Timing Belt tensioner has taken a shot and is slapping back and forth. Does it sound like it is coming from the passenger side of the engine?

Yeah it's definitley coming from the passenger side. It's a loud as he'll noise too. Could that be it even though the sound doesn't stay constant. It seems to happen just at idle and when the cars accessories are ran more.

It could be something else, but that is what it sounds like to me. I would pull all of the accessory belts off and make sure that it isn't something like an A/C or alternator.

I'll have to give that a look. Didn't get to see her today but she says the noise has been less today. The alternator was recently replaced by someone her dad knows(could go into a rant about that but I won't right now). I'll put it this way. Everytime hes takin it somewhere something else fails after and refuses to believe it. I'll give it a look tomorrow and see if something could be wrong with the belt or if it's rubbing something.
