Hey guys. I've noticed this since I bought the car but every now and again at low rpm load I get a random knocking noise coming from inside the dash/cabin. I've sat outside in the engine bay trying to look for a source of the knocking (thinking maybe it was a bearing), but the motor sounds completely healthy. I can only hear it inside the cabin.

Anyone know what this could be?

I have a ticking noise I sometimes hear in the cabin which is the speedometer line. It's more of a ticking/clicking sound not a knocking sound though.

Is it a pretty fast ticking? Mine also does it while sitting still, so I'm not sure if that rules the speedo cable out.

Mine does it while sitting still too. When I start moving it will stop after a short while. When you hear it again pop the hood and look up by the firewall near the brake fluid reservoir that's where the line is and see if you hear the noise there.

And yes it's a pretty fast ticking

I'll have to check. I'm thinking that may be it because the motor sounds great when revving in the engine bay.

Is there a way to get the speedo cable to stop making noise?

Whatever you do don't use marvel mystery oil.my car sounded fine before I did the oil change 3 days ago, would get the occasional ticking lifter that comes and goes. Since I did the oil change with 4oz of mystery oil (roughly) my car has massive lifter tick almost constantly now. I'm staying waaay the hell away from additives from now on if it ain't Lucas oil stabilizer.
