whever i have my car idling it has this weird grinding sond from right under the front seats. Its like a "grgrun....grurn.....grgrun..." i DO have a exhaust leak in the flex peice of the downpipe, could that be the sound? it really sound like grinding to me though. just wanna know what that is, thanks

The xfer case shouldnt make any noise at idle considering its not moving. One of your exaust hangers are probably broke so you have play in the piping causing it to vibrate on the underside of the car. Thats more than likely the problem. :thumb: :talon:

That's what I thought too, but mine does make noise at idle, believe it or not. I think the fluid is just thick enough to put a tiny bit of load on the gears and make it shake slightly and cause the noise.

Of course, mine is on its last leg so unless yours is too that probably isn't it. Just throwing ideas out there.
