Weird Grinding Noise

Hey all, I was driving around with my windows open today and noticed a weird grinding noise from under the hood when I hit about 3400rpm's in nearly every gear (I'm not too sure about the higher gears because there was too much wind noise to hear). Any thoughts? Or need more info?

By the way: it grinds MUCH louder on acceleration, but still grinds when the engines is idling down.

Does it "grind" when you press the cluch in?

Does it grind or whine? Mine was making a whining noise. i changed my transfer case (i see you're an awd like me) fluid to BG Syncroshift and it cleared up the sound. hope this helps.

Okay sorry guys, I haven't been on in a few days.

It doesn't occur when I push the clutch in, but occurs every single time I hit the same rpm's whether I'm under acceleration or not. Also, I would definitely say it's more of a grinding noise than a whine.
