I am new to the site, but am extremely happy with the amazing info in these threads. Thanks for that. Anyway, car is a 90 tsi awd. Love it!!! I have had no problems with this car except for tie-rod ends. Yesterday, the radio just went out and all my guage faces got brighter. Also my fuel pump started humming like crazy(probably the surge in power). Car stays like this while diving and giving gas. hit the clutch and the car lights go back down and the radio comes back on.

I know I'm supposed to read before posting, but most of what I searched for gave the opposite problem. High surges at idle and so forth. Tomorrow is sunday and my only day off for a while. looking to get this fixed. Any assistance is appreciated!! Thanks for your time. :talon: :laser: :dsm:

I only have 2 hrs left at this computer today. If anyone could respond it would be helpful. Thanks!!

might be your voltage regulator on the alt. take the car to advance/autozone etc and have them check the battery and alt

Thanks man. Have a good weekend!! :thumb:

Yeah it does sound like a problem with your alternator, more specifically the voltage regulator like i1nk83 said. Get it checked out and see what happens, autozone should test for free.

New alternator, no problems. thanks, you guys are good.

Next step big MUDDIN tires!!

jk!!
