Ok guys I have a question about my alternator. I drive a 2g gst and I had a galant alternator installed because it supposedly comes with more amps. Now this is the issue. When I first turn the car on it has a constant 13.9V. Then as time progresses driving or just staying still, the alternator slowly drops in voltage (13.9...13.8...13.7). It will usually drop voltage until it is at around 12.6 volts but this takes at least 30-45 min of driving. If I shut the car off and let it cool down, the voltage will go back up to high 13's. I can see the voltage because I have a turbo timer. The things that can "drink" some juice are my boost gauge and AEM wideband and I also have an aftermarket radio and speakers. However even if I turn the radio completely off, the alternator still gets drained. Any sugestions out there? New alternator or stronger alternator?

Hmm really? Because I have heard of people running constant 14v from their alternators. Maybe ours are just garbage LOL.

i have a 96 gst with sounds and a 1.5farad capacitor, stock alternator and no problem.i suggest put the alternator that the car was designed and programmed for.hope you listen.

mine does that too... 14V on a cold start..

then is at 13.3 when warm, and drops to 12.7 when use of brakes, accessory, etc, than rises back to 13+V at idle,

we might have bad/loose alternators... or it just might be common ... meh i dont know,
