Got my Weapon-R afpr from prostreetonline.com came really quick concidering Im in canada took 4 days.

Anyways here are a couple pics of the regulator when it came and I will go though the install process and take pics tonight as I do the install and let you guys know how it works. Its cheap enough forsure if it works good all the better. Mine also came with the DSM fuel rail adaptor. Below are the pics of when it arrived. Also included was the pressure gauge.

how much was it shipped to your door? Did they ship it usps or fedex/ups? If thats the case, how much did you get nabbed for duty? Also, is it adjustable up and down or just up?

Adjustable up and down. It was sent UPS was 109 US and no duty when it got here at all.

Good luck with the adapter. I had the same one and it fit's in the rail fine but the timing belt cover get's in the way and the hose kinks up on the other end. I ended up selling it and went with Aeromotive.

dont do it!!!!

I have this AFPR... The nipple that bolts to the fuel rail... yeah that likes to leak fuel. Invest in a very good epoxy to seal that up.

It kinda served its purpose, but id rather have the aeromotive. I regret buying this APFR. Looking at it, the ports dont even seem remotly big enough to support the 800hp that weapon R told me it would. Look at the aeromotive.. Big ports with a BIG line.. this has small ports and a rubber fuel hose. You get what you pay for.

You do get what you pay for and Im no novice in cobbling stuff to make it work I should have no problems at all.

If the hose kinks by the TB cover thats why the make elbows.

Thats also a problem thats only going to be associated with guys that have 7 bolts and 2G fuel rails because they ar longer. Your running a 6 bolt and a 1G rail so you will be fine.

I do also doubt that it will run 800hp however the ports are large enough for a 255lph pump. Typically on really high HP cars how the car runs at idle is not a concern and when at WOT not much fuel is returning to the tank anyway so the ports don't need to be super large. Your fuel pump delivers the same amount of fuel to the rail at idle as it does at WOT, minus some voltage variation but it's generally the same. Only at idle 95% of the fuel goes back to the tank and wot not much goes back to the tank again depending on your HP level. So how large the ports are really only matter on a huge fuel pump for a car that is at idle. If you were using their Tsunami 1000 pump and a Weapon-R FPR and the car was at idle it may not be a good combination. However that FPR with a walbro is fine.

I tried the elbow thing with a 1g fuel rail and it still spit gas all over the place out of that adapter. I'm just giving you a heads up of problems to look for. I do remember also reading that it does not raise 1:1 like the Cosmo FPR.

All you can do it set it balls to the wall and find out :p

Hey Jim what are these 6bolts going for these days ROFL

weapon R told me it was a 1:1 , thats why i bought it... Now i wish i didnt. An aeromotive isnt that much more considering the headachs of this one and installing shit twice.

I've had one of those regulators for almost a year now, and it still works fine. I got mine for 50 bucks shipped, off ebay. The adapter was garbage and it leaked. I ended up drilling out the stock regulator, and using it as an elbow to connect the weapon r. I did it as a quick fix, but it worked so well I left it alone. Maybe something to think about if you run into problems.

:talon:

I have that sam weapon R fpr.

The fuel rail adapter is a POS. I also ended up tapping the fuel rail for a good hose fitting. So far, it works like a charm, and the fuel pressure gaug in cabin says its 1:1.

Although I can't set base fuel pressure lower 39psi, it still gets the job done.

I guess it was worth it, but If I would have known that POS fuel rail adapter thingy leaked, I would've bit the bullet and gone Aeromotive, or full throttle bolt on.

OK did it last, it leaked but nothing 5 min epoxy couldn't fix. So I expoied the fitting no leaks no mess.

Pics show the epoxy job and such. Dunno much else to put in here. So far so good gotta get the FP dialed in now. I have it at 43 with no vac and the line plugged but I think its to high. If you buy this thing save the time and epoxy the adaptor first and also re teflon tape the regulator nipple fittings they leak too.

BTW those are vice grip marks on the adaptor its a tight fit and I have to fenagle it out when it leaked.

Just a quick question to ask.

I've bought one of these things too, and took your advice and I JB Welded the outer part of the rail fitting so that no leaks are possible. That is all fine and dandy.

What I don't get is how this thing is supposed to seal up to the fuel rail.

The stock FPR has about a 1/2 inch piece that fits into the rail... and the gasket seals from the inside. The Weapon-R has a spot for an o-ring but the ring is smaller than the inner diameter of the fuel rail.

How do I bolt this thing up without fuel pissing all over the place?! I was thinking of making my own gasket or something, but this just isn't looking good. I was also considering drilling out a stock 1G regulator or something and just running the fuel line over to the FPR.

Any solutions to this problem?

I was looking at the adapters on dsmparts.com tonight and noticed something very important!

My adapter flange that came in the kit does NOT extend INTO the fuel rail!
Those bastards! I want my adapter damnit!

I guess I'll have to bug them to send me another one.

I picked up the IE-AFPR kit from Import Evolution, with the Aeromotive AFPR... bolted right up, no leaks, aside from a bit of idiocy on my part, leaving too much teflon on the end of one fitting, which came loose and was dragged into the aperture. Gonna have to take it off and clear it out, then reinstall when I have a free hour or so. Excellent kit, if a bit more expensive.

I just bought one of those stupid waste-of-money AFPRs from DSMParts.com. It was advertised as a bolt on, meaning no sort of adaptors or anything stupid needed to work, right? But anyhow, one of their customer service reps told me that there was a defective batch of these FPRs being sold right now. The only reason I found out is because they sent an adaptor plate that DID NOT fit my rail. I was trying to get out of buying another adaptor piece, but insted they're sending UPS to pick it up and Im getting a refund. I'm just gonna buy a Charged Air DIRECT bolt-on FPR now, guess im gonna have to wait on turning up the boost now :toobad:

That is what is happening to me... wrong adapter plate.

Did they mention that the FPR itself was defective? Or just the wrong plate?

I'm in Canada and I'm not going through the border bullshit again over this. I also had already put some JBWeld over the nipple of the adapter to seal it up nice. I guess I'll here back from them (I wrote an email) very soon. ARG!!! I'm not happy!

I've been waiting long enough for all my stuff and now this.

For the people that are JB welding the nipple, just dont put the JB weld on the outside of the nipple, It WILL leak over time. You need to pull the nipple itself out of the adapter (not hard to do.) Once you have the nipple out, put the JB weld on the shaft of the nipple then press it back in. I placed it in a vise with a small amount of pressure applied to it to ensure a good seal. This way you wont have any air pockets, and it will look alot nicer as well.

Nice to see they shipped you out an adapter asap!

Dsmparts.com told me that the batch of regulators was faulty and to send it back (at their cost) and they're replace the units. Although I will now have to wait, at least I'll get a replacement at no charge.

I may just have my friend run a bead around where the two metals meet with his tig welder to seal it all up nice and tight. It won't leak after that!

I probably should have just ordered another model, but cash is tight and I couldn't afford to get the best of everything. I had purchased that and a walbro 255 at the same time hoping to put them in together! :( I guess I'll have to wait for the install day!

Well, UPS came and picked up that POS FPR today, that means I get a $110 refund, better for paying off speeding tickets. They didnt tell me weather or not the adaptor plate was defective, they just said the unit itself was defective. I guess I could understand, it didnt look extremely well-made and all you people are having to seal them with JB Weld WTF . If you can, send it back before its too late. I guess I got lucky, but I cant run my bigger injectors now because of no FPR and because of that, I cant run my 255 re-wire
