Water under spare tire?

I got my 95 GS about a week ago and I was putting my new plates on and one of the clips fell through the hole where you screw it in... So I popped the trunk and looked around and under the tire there was like an inch of old water... Today I went to the water out before it rusted out the bottom of my trunk and I saw that there were two plugs... So I just pulled them out and drained the water then left the trunk open to dry it up... I was just wondering if this is normal, I guess it would have to be if they have plugs in there but who knows... thanks

check to see if the drain holes at both sides of your hatch are plugged...

as for the convenient drain holes in the bottom... dont know.

mine does the same thing, it's because the seal around the hatch is leaking.

in my case the metal under the seal was dented a little, so i pulled it back out and it only leakes a few drops now. Also take off the side panels in the tunk and inspect the two drain tubes (one on each side) that drain water from around the hach. If you look around the hatch you will see 2 holes. Make sure they are not cut, leaking around the top, clogged and are running through the floor.

More importantly check you seals between the wing/spoiler and the hatch. Both of my talons 95 &96 had the seals shot and the water was actually going in that way. I just used some hot glue to around the holes and it solved my problems...

To check for those leaks just take off the plastic hatch cover and check for any weater signs...

Also check the hatch glass wiper pass-thru.
