Hey whats going on guys. I have a 4g63 with tons of mods. PF stage 2 cams,CP pistons, Eagle rods, HX40 turbo, water to air inter cooler ect.. My cooling system is an aluminum radiator running 50/50 mixtures with some water wetter in there as well. When driving the temp of the car is perfect usually between 190 and 200. once the cars sitting it reach around 220. even tonight, it was a cool night out an the car was hitting 220 for just sitting there for a few minutes. The Thermostat is a 190. There is 1 push fan. Should i switch to 2 pullers? I cant figure out why the cars getting hot. I'm trying to solve the problem soon because my car should be getting tuned next week. If you need to know anything else just let me know. looking for all the help i can get.

Thanks,
Stefan

If you're running into overheating problems while sitting then you just need more airflow. You have a couple of options, you can move more air with bigger/different fan(s) or you can start cutting things that obstruct the radiator. Do you still have your A/C components? Does your intercooler obstruct the radiator in any way?

No ac, and the water to air is a box that doesn't effect the air flow to the radiator.
Just so you got an idea.

+1 on the second slim fan. That should help lower temps, and have it wired in to run all the time or when the other fan turns on, the 2nd one turns on at the same time.

Just ordered a 180 thermostat. And I found out that I have a fan sitting in my garage LOL, so I will be putting those in once the thermostat comes in, and yes I will be putting the timing belt cover one, better safe than sorry LOL.

Thanks guys

Make sure your slimline fan flows AT LEAST 1200cfm, not all slimlines are equal. I see this all the with people complaining about overheating and upon checking, they went with the cheapest fan they could find and it only flows 500cfm. Also change your water/antifreeze mix, the more water the better, only use just enough antifreeze to keep it in the temp range you're currently in, 75/25 water/af would be good for you if it hasn't been below freezing temps for a few weeks.
