Water pump removal

Any good threads around concerning the water pump removal? I'm not having any luck with the search button.

Timing Belt VFAQ (Timing Belt TSB - ENHANCED)

The water pump is 5 bolts, an o-ring, and a gasket, but you have to remove the timing belt to get it out.

I looked at that. Didn't really see why the timing belt needs to come out to get the water pump removed. But, I've never done this on this car before either...

Check the 5th picture here for a good visual: Your motor on the engine stand. If you can figure out how to get to some of those bolts out easily without removing the timing belt, thoroughly clean the gasket surface, and reinstall the pump with gasket correctly, more power to you.

And then print it up and make some money from one of the truly new things to come along in some time.

uhmm... i did it without removing the timing belt, i just took off driver side front tire
