So, what is the easiest, or is there a way to remove the water pipe without removing the turbo? I finally found that my coolant leak is coming from the water pipe to water pump connection, so I'm assuming its a bad O-ring. Got the O-ring today so I'm trying to figure this out...It seems the hardest part is getting to the 14mm nut that holds in the water pipe bracket...

Any suggestions?

I guess I'm going to answer my own question then....I figure if I take the manifold off, and leave the turbo in place I should be able to get to the nut thats holds the water pipe bracket.

You might be able to get a wrench in there to get the bolt off of the block, but you also have to take off the water neck to pull the pipe out of the water pump.

you need to take the timing belt off...not the turbo.

WTF. Do not spread misinformation if you do not know what you are talking about.

There is an easy way and a hard way to remove the water pipe. You could essentially unbolt the coolant lines from the passenger side of the waterpipe (there's also 2 14mm nuts holding the pipe to the block) and then try your best to wiggle it off of the waterpipe and T-stat housing. I've found that it is a big PITA to do it that way.

The easier, but longer way to do it is by removing the turbo. PB blast and heat cycle the bolts for 2-3 days if you've never taken the turbo off before and then once the turbo is off you will be able to get the waterpipe off very easily. Make sure you put some antiseize and new turbo bolts in there while you have everything out. Maybe even a little porting too :sneaky:

When you get the pipe off, simply slip (you may want to lubricate it first) off the old oring and put the new one on.

I have the same problem and have to deal with it when I get the Spyder out of storage. I found an old thread that included a post from droptopgst saying that he was able to do it without removal of anything.

I shot him a PM for some clairification and this is what I received:

I just unbolted the end (where the radiator cap is) from the block. slid it up from the pipe. put a new gasket on it and bolted it back on. Nice and easy. When you get under there you will see what I mean.
