Ok I am just making sure that this is the correct decision.

A couple days ago the car was squeaking badly. It was coming from the water pump. I took off the pulley and checked it out, the little pulley attached to the water pump was loose and i could move it just by pressing it with my finger anyway, So I thought that I needed to tighten up the bolts on the other pulleys connecting to it. I did and the noise continued.

So what i'm asking is, can that pulley thing attached to the WP be tightened or do I need to replace the entire water pump???? Thanks

yeah I think it is too, so I need to replace the whole thing :( fun fun cant wait to spend 8 hours on doing LOL

You should replace the water pump asap and it should only take about an hour or two. A buddy of my was lazy and tried to wait till the weekend the blades on the water pump broke on him. Long story short he ended up overheating on the highway and had to tow his car home.

jk bout 8 hours LOL but when I go in do can I just take off the tensioner pulley and then take off the water pump and just swap it out with a new OEM pump, or what else needs to come off to take the WP out??? It looks like the tensioner arm might be blocking one of the bolts on the vfaq diagram can some one do a write up on this :) ?????

Wait im looking at the diagram, cant I just loosen the tensioner and leave the tensioner pulley on, then swap the pump out with out touching the timing belt?????
