Water pump pulley whinning

Bought a 2g awd tsi couple a months back. Car has 135 thousand mikes on it. A/C belt jumped over on me yesterday, partilly destroyed the the belt so I cut it off cause I was at work. Noticed that (what I think) water pump pully was making a whinning noise. Just to be sure i tighented the powersteering and alternator belt. Noise is still there. I was just wondering if this is what the w/pump does before it goes out on these cars. I have never had one go out. Appears that I am not loosing any coolant out the weep hole. Just looking for other directions to check before I tear the t/belt side of the motor apart. thanks for any info.

Are you sure that its not your crank pulley? If it is I would replace it immediately. My waterpump made all sorts of crazy noise when it went out. Does it look like the pully is shaking badly? I could see mine shaking back and forth when mine went out.

Pretty sure that its not the crank pulley. It does look like the pully on the w/pump is just barly moving

Remove the belts from the water pump pulley to see if the whine goes away. You can also then hand spin it to check for bearing noise and wobble.
