water pump help!

I need some help and i need it quick! I am replacing the water pump and timing belt on my friends 92 talon tsi fwd. When i pulled off the old water pump this is what i found:

i found 5 of the 6 fins that broke off, but there is still one inside the motor somewhere, anyone have any good suggestions on where to start looking?! I need to find that damn fin so i can get it all put back together. Thanks for the help! :thumb:

it should be either in the block or the big coolant line in front of the engine, i dont think it could go many other places. Either flushing the block or using a flexable megnent should get it out. I would try flushing it out first.
 
I would replace the rad, pull the engine out and and flush it out completely. The last thing you need is metal pieces in your engine.
 
Theres no need to pull the engine. Just do like stated earlier start at the water pump and move outward theres not to many places it can go. Just the block radiator, heater core, or lines. Good luck hunting.
 
searched and flushed everywhere and didn't see it come out, but it might have, put it all back together and she started up and ran good minus and idle problem, it fluctuates between 1300-1500rpms, any suggestions?
