I am a lurker and decided I need to post this.

I found the big alky thread "water meth ask your questions here" and wanted to get real time help on buying my parts.

Fully built 6 bolt block/head 272 cams shep trans BWs362 billet dsmlinkV3 big fuel system.

I am getting too much knock at 33psi to the point that I now run only 7 degrees timing up top. VERY unhappy perhaps my head was machined too thin.

Can people point me to the right pieces for a reliable kit hopefully cheaper AND more tuneable than others. I love tuning, experienced and good at it as I work fulltime with my dad in our shop with scan tool diagnostics and whatnot. So to verify, nothing on the market will be "too much for me to handle" in dialing the mixture. I'd love to have multiple levels of injection for spool up if possible to tune the openloop switchover as best as possible for that MONSTER spool up of this beast turbo.

I just wanna bring the temps down, and grin at the other benefits I will gain :D

Just too busy with my first home at 21 and life being crazy these last summer days.
ANY input will be appreciated more than you know!

Thanks! Good karma - TK

I use the Devil's Own kit and it has worked perfect with no issue's. I know 2 other friends who use it as well with no issue's.
Hope this helps,

Jim

Thanks man, dad runs the devils kit too. I have decided to go with my own parted setup as I need certain options that would make a kit kinda pricey!

i ran the aem kit on my 02 supercharged civic si was very happy with it easy install and easy to tune just costs too much to make power with a honda so i switch to dsm and im never going back to the dark side :thumb:

You stated that you have ECMLINK and a big fuel system, ever thought of E-85? Very inexpensive and would easily make your car have more power with a little bit of tuning. If you don't have E-85 ever thought about just using straight meth injection? I have had the best results just using stright meth.

I have thought about pure meth.. Though since my motor is showing slight crank walk just slightly outa spec now, I have to do my first race engine build so it can be done right this time.

I am leaning toward water meth though, because of the cleaning/cooling factors which are the things that appeal to me. Timing is just a bonus.

If there was E-85 around here we would run it, but all the 600hp street DSM's around here tune link with water meth and they're setups spool like demons from the underground.

I'll update this thread once I build the meth kit since I'll be doing that along with the engine build this early winter season ahead.

Input is still welcome!

Devil's Own is all you need. Get the basic kit, ditch the hobbs switch and wire the pump to either the EGR or FPS and activate it via Link. The stock washer tank already has a low level switch, already mounted in the car with easy access refill, pump mounts easily under the spare.

I am jealous of you being able to run that high psi. I have my HX40 to wastegate pressure and am still getting knock with and without meth use. I cannot for the life of me find this phantom knock anywhere!

I have mine installed with a pressure switch to a vacuum source, it's set to approx 15psi. Where I live we cannot get better than 91 octane at the pumps. I'm using a seperate container for my meth as I wanted to keep the stock washer fluid bottle. With one seat down I can easily see the level, I usually check it when gassing up anyway or headng to the track or auto x.

Does your engine have many miles? I had a friend with a smiilar issue and it turned out his rod bearings were gone and created the "appearance" of knock.
