I was hoping you guys that just got your water injection could post some of your results if you have installed your kit yet. I have received a couple of emails with the results, but I thought it would be better if the actual user posted them.

Thanks!

Sorry I haven't had time to log any pulls to see if my timing isn't retarted. within next week ill will log a couple of pulls at 16psi on 14b and smic with water injection on and another with the water injection off to see if my timing get retarted or not. I will post logs in the future:sneaky:

What do you want to know? Anything specific?

Results such as power increases, reduction in knock, timing advance, egt temps...

Well lets see i was running h2O first and the car liked it. Wasn't really able to bump the timing but i had around 12-13 degrees by 7,000rpm's. I was limited to run around 20psi on pump gas only and with the meth i was able to go up to 28psi which was what we only got around to. I dynoed 315whp@20psi on a mustang dyno. A few days later we dynoed again this time with the meth and i was able to go up to 28psi before we could see a little knock that netted me 370whp@25psi. No change to the tune was done. However a few problems were found which forced me to stop testing with the meth. The 57trim surges past 22psi so am having someone custom machine me a to4e housing with the surge ports which should take care of that. Next problem was the driver side motor mount was bad which would could possibly explain the knock. As of now am at a 50/50 meth/water mix and I plan on getting a 3gph low nozzle to replace my M2. So i'll report back when i have everything up and running right hopefully LOL.

I am intrested in your results, If you get the chance PM when when you get them. Im running 14, dsmlink and having a real problem with knock above 5500rpm. I think h20 is about the only sutable route to go at this point.. :)

ooh im sorry man its going to be a while to get my injection running again. I just found out that my pressure switch gave out. its leaks pretty darn good. Im think of buying a new one or somehow make my own? <--college student with no job:( Im also wondering if i should just get a regular switch and do it myself manually even though by water injection is there for wot

Warranty for a year, and I stand behind that. If it is not too late and you haven't already bought one, I am happy to send you a new one for free.

Greg

Policy is that you return the part, and then I would send the new one. This is to avoid people just getting free stuff by just saying something broke. In your case, I know you are not doing this, so I will just send another one, don't worry about sending your current one back. I won't be able to get it out until this weekend though, because I am out of town. Verify for me that your zip code is 78596 so I know I have the right account.

Thanks,

Greg

That's kickass. Glad to see some vendors back up there products. Hats off to you.:thumb:

I'm not 100% done with everything pertaining to a full review, but here are the findings I've compiled so far. I will edit this review later when my boost creep issues are resolved. I also have some pictures of the install to upload.

Greg was kind enough to send me the stage I twin nozzle Engine Runup kit as I requested. I ordered the 100PSI kit with an M2 and M3 nozzle set. Using 680cc injectors, the pair of nozzles seems to go through a gallon of 50/50 meth/water in about 6-700 miles. I ordered more hose so that I could tap into the rear windshield washer resivoir instead of using a bottle. I tapped into the bottom, right, rear of the resivoir so that water/alch would still be sucked up under hard acceleration. So far, that proved to be a very good idea.

Everything else was pretty much by the book. I mounted my rocker switch just to the right of my cigarette ligher in the cabin. Solenoid was mounted underneath the criuse control vacuum box, and pressure switch was mounted next to that. I mounted the M2 injector in my hard lower intercooler piping, and the M3 in the hard upper intercooler piping, just past the BOV. I tapped both holes for the injectors, and used the stacked washers Greg provided. I sealed the treads with HI-Temp RTV just to be safe. I set the pressure switch to activate at 7PSI, and then pressure tested the intake to 30PSI. No leaks.

Results: I set the car to the default "safe" tune with DSMLink and went for a rip. Before the water injection install, my intercooler would heat soak within 2 hard pulls. This was running an Evo III 16G at 15PSI, stock intercooler. As a result, I had to drop timing as much as 7 degrees using DSMLink just to keep knock under control.

After the install, I set AFR to factory stock, and timing to factory stock. 16PSI, No knock, no heatsoak of any kind. I beat the hell out of the car for a full hour without any knock at all. DSMLink logged 320HP peak during this run, all without any kind of tuning, running really, really rich. Previously, the best I could get was about 280HP.

After running the car pig rich with water injection, I proceeded to backfire and blow the living shit out of my catylitic converter. I dropped my AFR to 11:1, and the car performed like a madman. Pulled like nothing I've ever felt before. But, my cat was being shat out of my exhaust, so I figured I should probably fix it. (Please note that I backfired a bit before the W/I install, and that the W/I had NOTHING to do with my cat dying) I pulled the cat apart to find there wasn't much left of the catylist, and now have a nice case of boost creep. Right now, the car sees 21PSI before it starts to knock on the stock intercooler. 22+ seems a little much for it. I'm installing a new Magnaflow 3" hi-flow this weekend, and plan on turning the boost up to 19-20ish, based on what I've found.

P.S. I managed to crack my pump housing during the install(my fault), and Greg stepped up and sold me a new cap for the pump for a very cheap price, then got it to me within 48 hours. He really stands behind his products.

Thanks,
Matt.

yes that my zipcode. thanks Greg

It will go out tomorrow morning, via USPS Priority Mail, so you will have it on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Well I just finished the install of my kit which I did not buy from the vendor on this thread (sorry).I noticed a big difference with mine so far the egts are way down and no knock at all even at 24psi.Although I still have a little race fuel still in the tank. The only problem so far is it seems at higher boost to cut out a little bit.Could this be a cause of a to large of an injector nozzle? At 18-19psi It doesnt sputter at all.

My other question is does anyone know where the airtemp sensor gets its reading from.Because my air temps did not really change.I think someone told me they read from the maf but im not certain.

Check the karman vortex reading on your MAF. If it's coming close to 2000HZ, you're getting MAF overrun, which will cause the sputtering you're talking about. This has nothing to do with water injection.

The intake air temperature sensor is locacted in your MAF. It measures the temperature at the air filter, and agian has nothing to do with water injection.

Matt.

My car is a 2G so It reads in lbs/min.I just wanted to know where it got its reading from so I could tell if the water injection was making my temps lower, but if it reads it from the airfilter than it wont change.

Just because of that, i'll be purchasing from you here in the near future

werd, its good to see vendors standing behind products. His sites booked mark for when I look at getting my water injection. :thumb:

I had been looking into Water/Meth Injection for my STI, but have decided to try it on my VR-4 first. The hardest part has been deciding who and where to buy from, but after reading this thread and checking out his website, I WILL be buying from Greg at Enginerunup, they seem to really know their stuff there. It's also really great to see vendors back their customers!! Excellent work.

Gimmie a couple of weeks Greg and I'll be ordering a stage 2 street kit from you. 20 psi on pump gas here I come!!!!:rocks:
