Anybody find a good JY unit that holds a good amount of fluid?
I may go search some JYs soon, just wondering if anyone already found a good coolant overflow, or winshield washer resevoir that works well.

I suppose with coolant resevoirs I could link 2 or more together as long as they were at a similar level and connect them using the lower outlet. Just typing and thinking at the same time here, but 2 linked tanks would be easier to hook up a low water light, just hook it up to the slightly higher tank, so when it goes empty the light comes on.

I used the stock rear wiper reservoir on my 1g, and then placed the pump above the rear left rear strut behind the interior panel. I went to the junk yard and pulled a low fluid sensor out of a coolant overflow bottle and put it into the bottom of my stock wiper reservoir. I then wired it to my dual stage boost controller so that when the tank gets low it cuts back the boost, which in turn shuts off the water injection. This is really nice because I don't need to worry about knocking from not injecting, and the pump shuts off before it gets air into the lines. I usually have to fill the tank up like once a week if that, but I think its worth it to keep the system totally hidden from view.

I like the way you wired the low level into your low boost setting. That is a great idea. I thought about doing the same, but in the opposite direction. A low and a high boost setting, with the WI only being on in the higher boost setting. So I can beat on the car somewhat and not use up my water/alky, but I like your idea more.

Can you give me a schematic of how you did that with the low level sensor?
What boost controller are you running?

me and a prof here at college developed a water injection system that works off of your waste gate. We ran a vacuum line from the wastegate to a fuel pressure regulater. This was then hooked up to a external fuel pump that had a on off switch and a low level switch that was tied into a alky tank. The results we found where that when at idle the car was about 215 degrees ambient temp under a full pull with a T3 turbo and a stock sidemount we lowered it to 205 at redline in 3rd gear. I will be making a pdf on how to make this beast latter this year. If you want i can send ya it. Jason

I have a "homemade" dual stage boost controller. Its simply a standard ball and spring controller with a bypass hose on it that can be opened or shut using a solenoid. The way I have it now my boost choices are 18psi, and stock 11psi. In the near future I'm going to add a second boost controller after the solenoid so I can have two higher boost levels, like 15 and 18. But anyway, the solenoid I have is normally closed meaning when there is no voltage going to it the car is running high boost. I simply wire the low fluid sensor directly to the solenoid so that instead of turning on a light it just opens the solenoid, turning down the boost. Therefore if my high boost button is on and I can still only boost 11psi, I know its time to fill the tank. Another thing I have discovered that i really like, is that if you wire an l.e.d up to the pump after the pump relay you can tell if have a leak in the WI system. I put my l.e.d. in my gauger cluster and evertime the pump turns on it lights on. If there aren't any leaks the light will blink, if one of the lines crack or something the light comes on constant while under boost. I hope this helps, Kevin
