wastegate/turbo problem?

ok....My car is having some problems....it boosts 11 psi and it feels fairly slow like it is trying too hard to move. At first i thought the cause of the problem was my exhaust which was bent after the axle horribly (i have a 3" catless exhaust) and tapered to about 2". So last night i took a grinder and cut the exhaust off after the Rear differential to see if this eliminated the problem. It turns out it helped a little but not alot. I have done Boost leak checks and it held 15psi fine. So then i unplugged the wastegate to see how much boost the car would run. And it would get stuck at 14psi and not go any higher. This also made the car alot slower than before. So i plugged it back in. The car runs fine no smoke. I have not done a compression check. I dont know what could be the problem. Dying turbo?

How quick does it spool up to 11 psi? Did you check for leaks before the turbo?

it spools by about 2500 rpm

hows your idle? when my T belt jumped 1 tooth it felt just like that. Idle was around 450 when warm.

idle is about 1000 when warm

if it's spooling by 2500 then the turbo's fine. did you do the compression check yet?

no compression check yet its been raining out....could it be that i did the boost leak test wrong and I just have a bad leak. Or could the exhaust possibly be messed up somewhere with a blockage in the piping?

You can try the boost leak test again, but if your turbo is spooling at 2500 rpm like you say it is, I don't think your problems is going to be on the exhaust side. When I had a crushed ring collar blocking half of the collector on my manifold, I wouldn't get any boost until 4000 rpm. Let us know when you get the compression test and when you check for leaks again.
