my wastegate had come off my turbo like 2 months ago, right! so i had to pull over side of road and loosen it up, but i lost power, so i tried to tightin it up a bit, but not sure if i got it right. my question is how do u know its set right? like i have my boost at 9 steady with boost controller off, but still not sure if its set right,

Your post is very confusing. Your wastegate fell off so you had to pull over and loosen it up? But you lost power so you tightened it up? WTF If you're running 9psi without the boost controller that should be fine. Put the boost controller on and set your pressure where you want it or where you had it before the problem and forget about it. I don't see what you're asking.

Im guessing your actuator fell off the arm(but if it fell then theres a cause). So it was loose and you hooked it back up and then adjusted it and somehow left the wastegate open at all times... all you do is tighten it the opposite the way until the the wastegate is closed at vaccuum, and that is only if you didnt break something.

yea its the wastegate arm that hooks to the turbo, i guess the c clip that held it on broke, but at the time i had todo it from top of hood, so i loosened it so i could just pop it on, and then when i got home i took it back off and tightened it back to where it was, but i just wasnt sure if thats where its supposs to be, i have big 16g turbo.

yea the reason i asked is cause i had tightened it up to much and boost with boost controller off was sky high up over 25psi, it had cracked my valve cover, wich was ok cause i had just gotton a brand new blue one anyway, but like i said i got it where the boost cotroller is off and its steady at 9, i just wanted to make sure i had it right, i thought i did, but thats y i asked first, before adjusting it, anyhow off to get this fuel managment setup done, last things i need todo i hope, if nothing else friggin brakes, only problem with this dsm car, theres always something wrong. LOL. cool though im learning alot about the car.

I still don't understand what you're "adjusting" on the wastegate. As was said before, it's held to the compressor housing with two bolts...they should be tight...no adjustment there, and the actuator arm is held to the wastegate lever on the turbine housing with a clip...again, no adjustment.

So the two bolts should be tight, and the actuator arm should be on the lever with a clip holding it there.

It may not be the stock style wastegate...I'm guessin, it was an adjustable one(As in the Arm can be adjusted shorter to increase the spring presure) so he tightened it up made his boost go to high and now has already fixed it. ...

yes thats what im talking about, it came off the turbo, then i had to loosen it up just to get it on, wich my boost was 12psi before it came off, then when it came off and i twisted it to loosen it being i was on side of the road, it then gave me 6psi, but then i got it now at steady 9psi with controller off, but i just wanted to know if thats correct for the big 16g turbo, i hooked the boost controller back up now and i can adjust, i got it back to 12psi, but i just wanted to see if anyone knew what that arm was supposs to be adjusted to, and what is psi suposs to be set to, to know if its right.
