Hey Everyone!
I got the turbo Warrior running pretty good. I've been having an issue with the wastegate not opening. I took it apart and found that part of the diaphragm was pinched between the top and bottom sections. Fixed that and it seems to work better but still not opening real well. Took it apart again and lightly sanded the rod so that it moves up and down easier but in the process punched a whole in the diaphragm. It is a 38mm wastegate. One thing I noticed is that the top plate was sitting about half way over the pressure hole. (photo 1) I thought it was odd. Is this how they are supposed to be? I decided to put a couple of washers under it to raise it up so the pressure source hole would be more open. Is this a good idea? (photo 2) Also, I need a new diaphragm. Any suggestions for this type of wastegate? (photo 3)
Thanks a ton DSM Tuners!

Also, does anyone know what type of knock off this is? Like Tial MVS for example. I would like to get a different spring and see if that makes a difference. I emailed the person I got it from and they didn't know.
Thanks!

Looks like a tial mvs knock off and that's also why you are having so many issues with it. I would spend the money on a decent used one.

I think you can use a tial diaphram in those but I am not 100% sure.

Thanks! I have two springs for it and I think I'm actually running a 10lb spring. So it's opening up pretty good. I would love to get a real one but funds are limited right now. What is your opinion of the gap in photo one vs. photo two? Got any recommendations on a quality diaphragm? I saw an OBX replacement one which look like what I have. I didn't know if there were other one's that are higher quality. Thanks for your input!

Every so often I see good quality WG's on the classifieds here on the forum. Sometimes people have had them sitting around for awhile so they sell them for a budget price. I would definitely try to get a authentic. As for internals of the wg I myself never even thought about delving into repairing them.
