I was wondering if i could do a stand-alone tuning set up until i do link and if so what stand-alones do you know of and how much they are and how do i do it.

A stand alone like aem costs more than link, so that's kind of a step backwards... do you mean tune with an safc or air fuel controller? Yeah, sure... its been done for decades.

If you google safc dsm or dsm safc... you will get days of info. Thats the cheapest route, make sure you have a wideband at the least. You also want a way to log... by the time you buy all that, you've spent what you need to buy link. Just fyi.

Look at road race engineering and their extensive write ups about how the safc works and how to set it up.

Also, if you are talking about doing the safc, you are limited to 660cc injectors. It can't compensate for anything larger.

I am gonna be running FIC 750s, 20g turbo, wally 255, FMIC, halman MBC, full 3 inch no cat, tubular mani, stock intake just smoothed out.

If your ecu is an EPROM than you could do a custom chip for the injectors and run an safc to fine tune.

You need to READ up on what you are talking about.

You have no idea what you are doing and need to get an understanding. There is a tuning thread here on this site with more info than you can even handle. As long as you include "dsm" in ANY tuning question on google you will find answers. My advice is hold off on anything and understand what you are trying to accomplish.

You are going to end up that guy, with the unreliable dsm that dumps it for scrap because you don't understand it.... sorry its harsh, but you need to do more reading and less buying.

The main reason behind this, is because we can't give you a definate tune. The biggest thing is you can get guidelines to follow to set up a "base" tune. Then you use your laptop, logs, wideband, knock sensor and all the other factors to fine tune YOUR car.

I have a keydiver chip with an safc to fine tune on top of it. Even the guys that take your info and send back a chip don't get it 100% right, but they can get it close enough and conservative enough to not cause problems.

The tune is all on you and how well you understand what you are going to be doing. If you don't understand then that's where the READING comes into play. What good is $1,500 worth of parts sitting there if you don't understand how to make it all work together.

The first step is taking the plunge and buying the tuning platform you will feel most comfortable with. We can't help you guess a tune if you don't even know what tuning device you want to use. They all work, some have limits, some are limitless.

At the very least, at least get a EPROM ECU or get yours converted - and then get a custom EPROM chip. My car ran fine that way to about 300whp when I switched to DSMLink. I was using a Keydiver chip.

Otherwise, wait to try making power until you can afford to set it up right

Start with google for the basics, then after a little research get a book called "Engine Management and Advanced Tuning" by Greg Banish. I'm just starting out with DSMLink and tuning and I found this book to be ridiculously helpful and a fun quick read.
