car wanting to die!!

k well im having this roblem with my car. i just recently cleaned out the everything on the intake and changed the valve seals on it. now after i put everything back together it started acting weird on me. it idles fine and everything when cold and when hot. BUT everytime im at idle, (1000rpms) and rev it up (say 3 grand) and let go of the gas, it goes all the way down to 500 rpms and it like wants to die, but then it goes bck up to 1000,1100 rpms and idles normal. it does that too when im driving, if im on any gear and hit the clutch to neutral, does the same thing. sometimes it actually dies.
i didnt have this problem before i cleaned it all up but i did have the same code i have now, the air temp. sensor. sooooo that leaves me thinking that it could be the MAF causing this issue. the only thing is that how come it didnt do it before
and ive been wanting to replace the MAF but theyre too darn expensive .

oh oh... I actually get to be the first one to say this.

You probably have a boost leak. you might want to start there!

checked and no boost leaks. everything looks pretty sealed up in there. anything guys?

So what exacly did you clean out of the intake and how did you do it?

well i replaced the trottle body gaskets, cleaned out the egr valve, the idle speed control, the intake itself from the inside (it was filled with a thick layer of squishy oil, pcv valve fault) and replaced the intake gasket also, head gasket too. all the headgaskets were replaced, icluding valve seals. throttle body and throttle body parts were cleaned with carb cleaner. and a experienced dsmer from here in colorado was telling me to clean the MAF with the same stuff (carb cleaner). idk about that but what do u guys think?

no don't use carb cleaner. did you check all your vacume lines to make sure nothing is leaking out of those? or even i had this happen to me where i forgot to stick one small bolt in and the car ran like crap. Then if nothing there try ohming the tps maybe something went wrong when you took the throttle body off.

^^ will do, or if i missplaced vacume lines will that cause this also? soo ya ill give them a second look. thanks garrek11. altho im gona have to really replace that maf tho, i think it has to do alot on this too

Sounds like your intake gasket is gone. It lets un metered air pass the maf directly into the engine.
