Car starting to die, but why?

I was driving to campus, but when i was getting on the express way my car started stuttering funny.
-
I can't accelerate above 3 grand.
-If i get around 2 and a half grand and give it gas to try to boost, it blows a ton of black smoke out the exhaust.
-My turbo doesnt appear to spool. It sounds like air is being brought in and then when i release the gas, it is expelled, not blown off.
-My exhaust makes a chung chung sound.

Now i do have a SAFC that i wired up but that was a couple months ago. Would a loose wire be part of a problem here, or what?

I checked for blown off hoses or leaks but found none yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated since i have no idea where to start.

I would check your turbo. See how much shaft play it has. If there is any in and out play its starting to go bad. Also make sure it spins freely. The black smoke could be caused from bad seals inside of the turbo, bad valve seals, or maybe your s-afc is set wrong. Your turbo could be fine but this is just the things i would check first.

My safc was working fine and so was the car the past 2 months i have had it. But it is possible that the wires could have come lose i have been looking at it.

WHen the car runs, the turbo blades spin really smoothly.

I dunno if this helps narrow things down or what.

Double check your wiring on your s-afc just to be safe. If you spin the turbo by hand does the freeplay alow the compressor wheel to rub on the compressor cover? My buddie blew a turbo on his car and when ever he got on it smoked like crazy out the exhaust. Some one else i know also had bad valve seals his car smoked like crazy but it was all the time not just when he got on it.

****Problem Fixed!!!****


I had 2 problems.....

1) My vaccum line was blown off my fuel pressure regulator, behind the top right of the valve cover. That fixed my blowing black smoke and running really slow.

2) Why my car would hold boost but release it out the intake. My boost meter wire on my ecu was split in half and my safc needed to be connect together with that split one that i had to reunit.
