want to start looking into tuning with evo scan

So I was told this is the best way to tune for a 98/99 ecu & is really cheap but I have no idea what all do I need ? I was looking at evo scan website and I was a little confuse didn't say anything about dsm's only evo's and Subaru's .I read another thread saying using evo scan and ceddy mod but I'm still little confuse what to get and start with. I want to buy something to tune my car with my list of parts /mods are in my profile. I was thinking about buying evo scan around the same time I order my wideband so i can have both

Evoscan is for logging. You tune with ecuflash. You gotta buy a TACTRIX cable... Everything should be in the master ceddy mods thread... Read read read.

ok is this the Tactrix cable i need ? another $20 i can get the software also

EvoScan is the logging software. For tuning you would need EcuFlash and a Tactrix 2.0 cable. They all come from the same place..Tactrix. I don't know if Ceddy still has his mod package available for download. Hie free download does not have all of the features that he set up. You would need to buy the full version to get everything....if he is still doing it.

ok thank you. have you use this before i notice you have a 99 gsx what are you using to tune with ?

I am using EcuFlash at this point. I've been through a lot of piggy backs. I need to be able to have OBDII working to pass inspection in NJ. I tried link a long time ago, but the 95 ECU doesn't complete the OBD readiness. I'm using the Ceddy mods including big maps and use the Tactrix 2.0 cable. I'm using an old dell laptop, nothing special but it runs. I'm running windows XP, ecuflash runs on windows 7, but some of the files need to be placed in a different location on 7. Tactrix, I've found has very good customer service. They have talked me through some problems. (I am not a windows person....I use Macs both at work and home)

Ecuflash will let you make a lot of changes at native root level. It will let you turn off some of the emission tests that would cause CELs. And you can make almost any size injector idle like stock.

Sorry about that guys I was a little confuse at first now I understand so I need ecu flash to mod the ecu and EVO scan for logging and the tactrix cable to connected . is their anything else I left out going to reading those two links when I get a chance I'm at work right now haha
